While electronic products will take center stage in Allegion Booth 211, Aug. 8-9 at the ALOA Security Expo in Orlando, the mechanical side will also be well-represented.
Locksmith Ledger asked Dan Dotson, Regional Director, Channel Sales Central Region at Allegion about the ongoing transition from mechanical to electronic. “We are seeing continual double digit-growth within the Allegion electronic portfolio, as well as continued growth across all Allegion mechanical products. Allegion continues to invest in products and companies to provide a comprehensive portfolio of mechanical and electronic products.,” he said.
On the electronic side, the next big thing is the continued growth of the Mobile Credential –how to best utilize this convenience and still provide security across multiple verticals: K-12, Healthcare, Multi-Family, Commercial Real Estate, Residential, etc., according to Dotson.
On the mechanical side, the next best thing is the growing range of locking indicator products that will allow people to understand the door is secure with a quick visual. In addition, Allegion is introducing a comprehensive Mid-Price Point lock, exit device and closer product line to align with the market demand.
When asked what types of products Allegion’s locksmith customers are requesting, Dotson listed the following categories.
