ALOA celebrated its 70th anniversary in a big way at the 2026 ALOA Security Expo, June 26-27 at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas. New products on display ranged from sophisticated electronic access control to key machines and programmers to the traditional door hardware, locks, keys and tools. In this era of the specialist locksmith, every niche was represented.
New Product Showcase
Congratulations to Mul-T-Lock, winner of the 2026 ALOA New Product Showcase with the MTL 700 rotating magnet-based locking system. Winners were chosen by attendees at the ALOA Security Convention. The competition had a record 18 entries. Here are the entries and their descriptions.
Mul-T-Lock MTL 700: Built on a foundation of the trusted telescopic pinning mechanism, Mul-T-Lock’s MTL 700 cylinder platform delivers high security with its patented rotating magnetic element technology. Each MTL 700 key features two unique rotating magnets that interact with the magnetic components in the cylinder. This dynamic mechanism adds an extra layer of protection, disrupting both traditional and advanced forms of lock manipulation.
Allegion ND Series Privacy Indication Locks: A new group of cylindrical ND Series locks was released, adding keyed privacy to existing privacy indication trim functions. These new functions are ideal for single- and small group-use spaces such as rehearsal rooms, study pods, faculty offices, restrooms, shower/changing rooms or rooms requiring temporary closures due to cleaning or stocking. In hospitals, they are ideal for staff sleeping/on-call rooms, patient restrooms and therapy rooms. Occupants get privacy without disruption, while locks are operable from the outside with a key in emergency situations. Free egress is maintained from the inside.
Allegion’s Schlage Performance Series Locks: Performance Series locks bring trusted Schlage reliability to commercial real estate and multifamily projects where budgets matter and applications call for quality and security. Three models are included:
- PM Series Grade 1 Mortise Locks – 23 mechanical and three electrified functions
- PC Series Grade 1 Cylindrical Locks – eight mechanical functions
- PT Series Grade 2 Tubular Locks – four mechanical functions
American Key Supply Pin Kit Pro Flip: Billed as the ultimate workbench efficiency solution, the Pin Kit Pro Flip is a professional grade workstation engineered to maximize efficiency in small spaces. Using a rugged vertical-pivot mechanism, it allows a classic LAB pinning kit to be flipped upright when not in use, instantly freeing up bench space. When flipped up, it reveals a secondary workspace underneath.

With four different operating modes and additional functions, opening doors becomes considerably easier. In automatic mode, the door opens automatically using a switch, such as a push or wave plate. McGrath Smart Locks ASCOT Smart Gate Lock: The ASCOT double-sided smart gate lock is built for gates or any other opening that needs to lock from both sides. Each side operates independently, stopping intruders from reaching through or jumping a gate to release the lock. A tough, tempered touchscreen delivers IP66 water and dust protection, plus seaspreay resistance. The lock is battery powered, no wiring. Either side can be set to passage mode for free egress. Whether working on a commercial door, an electronic lock or an EEPROM programming job, locksmiths can quickly find the information they need to complete jobs accurately and efficiently. The app can even analyze photos of hardware or vehicle components to provide targeted assistance.
For automotive locksmiths, the Intelligent Assistant identifies exact vehicle specifications from the VIN and provides the correct transponder, FCC ID, keyway, remote information and programming support, as well as assisting with all keys lost scenarios, Lishi decoding and diagnostics. For commercial and residential applications, it offers access control wiring diagrams, installation guidance, master key system design and pinning calculations.
From the Show Floor
After getting some extensive and valuable training during the week, locksmiths got the opportunity to check out the latest products, meet with vendors and network with each other on the show floor.
The largest displays were from the larger lock manufacturers, ASSA ABLOY and Allegion, and key machine manufacturers like Kaba Ilco and XHorse, and the automotive-focused distributors like American Key Supply, Key Innovations, UHS Hardware and Transponder Island. In addition to the booths, three vehicles made their way into the exhibit hall. The Ilco van was fully stocked with key machines and keys, while Key Innovations and new-to-ALOA company Lock50 demonstrated automotive tools on their test vehicles.
New this year were free mini-education sessions, lasting about 15 minutes each, with topics including upcoming code changes, listing your business on Google, social media for locksmiths and tax tips for small businesses.

ALOA will head to Chicago in 2027, convening July 11-15, 2027, for classes and July 16-17, 2027, for the Security Expo at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center and Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago. The SAVTA division of ALOA will hold its show, Safetech 2027, April 12-17 (Expo April 17), at the Hyatt Regency, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
