NAPCO, BadgePass Integration

NAPCO Security Technologies has announced an integration between its MVP-EZ and MVP Access cloud-based access control platform and BadgeHub, the credential management and badging platform from BadgePass.

The integration synchronizes cardholder information between BadgeHub and NAPCO's MVP platform, reducing duplicate data entry while simplifying credential issuance and access management. Users can also print and issue access cards directly from the BadgeHub mobile app, which automatically configures cardholder door access permissions within MVP Cloud to eliminate manual programming and speed employee and visitor onboarding.

NAPCO said the integration supports organizations of all sizes through its cloud-based access control portfolio. The company's mobile-first MVP-EZ platform is designed for smaller installations while MVP Access offers browser-based management, custom administrative permissions, advanced reporting and multi-site control. Together, the platforms provide a scalable system that can support installations ranging from a few doors and users to thousands with a flat monthly rate per door.

"At NAPCO, we're focused on delivering access control solutions that are simple to deploy, easy to manage, and scalable for virtually any application," said Rob Etmans, Director of Access Control at NAPCO Security Technologies. "The addition of BadgeHub enhances the MVP ecosystem by streamlining credential issuance and cardholder management while helping dealers, locksmiths, integrators, and end users deliver a more complete security solution."

According to NAPCO, the integration allows HR, security, facilities and administrative departments to onboard employees and visitors, issue credentials and manage access privileges through cloud-based platforms that can be accessed remotely.

The company said MVP also supports its cloud-ready access control panels and wireless locking solutions while providing a unified infrastructure for new and retrofit applications. The BadgePass integration expands the MVP platform's technology partner ecosystem, joining existing video integrations with Hanwha Vision and Digital Watchdog.

"BadgePass is committed to helping organizations improve security and streamline identity management," said Phillip King, President of BadgePass. "This integration with NAPCO's MVP platform combines modern credential issuance with flexible cloud-based access control, creating a more efficient experience for dealers, locksmiths, integrators, and end users alike."

The BadgeHub integration for MVP-EZ and MVP Access is available now through authorized NAPCO dealers, locksmiths and security integrators. NAPCO's access control hardware is sold through distributors nationwide.

PASS White Paper: Funding Strategies for Schools

The Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) has released a white paper designed to help K-12 schools identify and pursue funding sources for safety and security initiatives.

Titled Funding for School Security, the paper examines challenges school districts and private schools face when attempting to fund safety improvements, particularly as schools contend with safety mandates and expectations that may not include dedicated funding. The document offers recommendations for identifying funding opportunities and developing long-term plans to support school safety efforts.

According to PASS, funding for school safety projects can come from a variety of sources, including local funding measures such as bond issues and capital campaigns, as well as federal and state grants and private foundations. The organization notes that successful funding efforts often depend on aligning safety needs with available funding opportunities and clearly communicating how funds will be used.

The white paper encourages schools to develop multiyear safety and security master plans that address physical security improvements, operational systems and leadership resources. PASS states that long-term planning can help schools take advantage of funding opportunities as they become available and support continuous improvement efforts.

Among the resources highlighted in the paper are the federal government's SchoolSafety.gov website and grants finder tool, the U.S. Department of Justice's Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) School Violence Prevention Program, state-level grant programs and funding opportunities offered through FEMA.

The white paper also provides guidance for schools applying for grants, including recommendations to align funding requests with broader safety plans, understand grant eligibility requirements and document existing safety initiatives and security programs. PASS notes that many grant applications require schools to explain their safety strategies, funding needs and intended use of funds.

According to the organization, funding priorities should extend beyond physical security upgrades to include safety leadership, staff training, operational systems and ongoing security management efforts. The paper states that many school facilities were constructed decades before current security threats emerged, creating ongoing needs for infrastructure improvements and enhanced campus security measures.
