Net2 Tutorial Series for Paxton Installers

Paxton has produced a new series of Net2 tutorials to support installers with the latest features in the company’s access control software. These five short, informative videos provide guidance on how to make buildings more COVID-secure with Net2.

Contactless access control – Hygienic access via touchless entry and exit points, moving away from touch-based devices.

Flexible access permissions – Meeting social-distancing guidelines, limiting access to high-traffic areas and implementing a one-way flow of movement.

Occupancy management – Assigning visitors and staff to designated areas and monitoring people numbers with alerts to further support social distancing.

Thermal scanning – Using thermal cameras to support health and well-being in high-security areas and identifying people who could be at risk

Checkpoint Control - Setting designated checkpoints in specific areas of a building where users must be validated before they can access other areas.

Continental Access Introduces E-Access Embedded Platform

Continental Access, a division of NAPCO Security Technologies, announced the debut of its E-Access platform. E-Access is an easy-to-use platform of self-contained controllers that have embedded software. It provides hybrid access control in a cloud-based system, with the advantages of an on-premise access system. E-Access is available in one-, two- and four-door controller models, fully expandable to 256.

E-Access is a self-contained system, so there is no software to load, and it’s ready out of the box. It features secure cloud-based remote management or mobile app management. A setup wizard guides users through an easy and fast setup of the system, auto-populating of holidays, the integrated flat file import tool and bulk loading of users and credentials. The E-Access embedded platform allows for use with any popular browser.

E-Access features no-touch Bluetooth mobile credentials and automated credential issuance, 1.5-gigahertz 64-bit processing with a gigabit Ethernet, a database copy for each panel, UL294 Series 7th Ed. listed and a 5-year hardware warranty.

ASSA ABLOY Aperio, Connect ONE Integration

ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions completed the integration of its Aperio wireless lock technology with the Connect ONE cloud-hosted management platform from Connected Technologies. Connect ONE manages all connected customer devices, including wireless and hardwired locks, access control, intrusion, video surveillance, critical environmental monitoring and energy management from a single interface.

“We’re excited to present this integration with industry-leading ASSA ABLOY Aperio wireless devices to Connect ONE dealers,” says Mike Simon, managing partner of Connected Technologies. “Now, dealers can easily expand their services to more doors and offer new protection possibilities that save installation time and money. In addition, the Aperio/Connect ONE integration works with popular Bosch, DMP, ELK and Honeywell Vista panels, so they can be up and running with new specs quickly.”

The Aperio integration provides Connect ONE customers with an easy way to connect additional wireless locks to new and existing installations. Aperio is a global wireless platform that works with extensive locking hardware options from ASSA ABLOY Group brands, addressing a variety of applications throughout any facility. The platform uses wireless communication (IEEE 802.15.4) between the lock and an Aperio hub to provide real-time communication to the access control system, simplifying installation and reducing costs.

Aperio wireless locks map directly to the intrusion areas for an immediate armed status review to deny access when armed and can disarm intrusion with proper authority upon granted access at the lock. Because the wireless locks are integrated with the control panel, user permissions are applied exactly the same for hardwired readers, allowing for a mix of wireless and hardwired reader or locks without additional setup complexity. The integration also allows for a mapped hardwired relay output to initiate an auxiliary control upon access and a relay output to control an external door opener. Aperio locks use an encrypted wireless connection to an Aperio IP hub; each hub can communicate with a maximum of 64 locks.

In addition, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions announced the integration of its IP-enabled Power over Ethernet (PoE) and Intelligent Wi-Fi access control locks with the Frontier Integrated Platform from Matrix Systems, a leader in the enterprise access control industry.

“The ASSA ABLOY integration furthers our commitment to open platforms and helping customers secure even more of their facilities,” said Bruce Rogoff, CEO of Matrix Systems. “Partnering with ASSA ABLOY gives Matrix the ability to help lower access control costs to the enterprise organizations we serve across the country.”

The IP integration provides end users with more options for expanding their physical security system easily and affordably by using IP-enabled locks from ASSA ABLOY Group brands Corbin Russwin and SARGENT. The IP-enabled range includes locks that connect to a host system through an existing 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi network. The range also includes IEEE 802.3af compliant PoE locks that connect to a Local Area Network (LAN) through a single Ethernet cable for power and data.

The Frontier Integrated Platform by Matrix Systems are used by some of the nation’s top airports, universities and health-care systems.
