Medeco has a new high-security key system coming in early 2021.
Medeco announced the M4 system formally during a webcast, “Creating Access for the Future: Technology and Innovation.” The webcast discussed a breadth of products by ASSA ABLOY divisions meant to highlight the company’s innovations, particularly in light of the demand for touchless solutions in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jim Pelk, director of business development and sales for Medeco and Assa Inc., says the new patented system will be available after “the first of the year” and have a patent that’s valid until 2040. He says the system will resist many types of attacks, including 3-D printed keys, but provided no further details.
