H.L. Flake, a leading distributor of security products serving locksmithing professionals, posted an operational update on its website. For the most part, it will continue to operate as it has despite the coronavirus outbreak.
Most important, Flake says, phones will operate “as they always have” and promised a seamless transition even though workers who can work remotely will be doing so. In addition, Flake says it has received additional inventory “to ensure we have what you need, when you need it.”
One change, however, will affect customers close to Flake’s Houston location. Through Friday, March 20, Flake will move to Will Call Express orders only. In this process, you call in your order or place it through Flake’s website before arriving for pickup. This is to minimize person-to-person contact and follow health-care experts’ recommendations to maintain a six-foot separation.
At the facility, boxes will be marked clearly with your name and two sets of paperwork, one for you to sign and one to keep. Two-way video cameras will be set up to allow for two-way communication. Until further notice, Flake will accept only open account or credit-card orders; no cash.
Flake previously announced the postponement of its trade show, scheduled for March 26–28, 2020, in Houston. The education portion of the show now is scheduled for June 11–12, 2020, in Houston.
