Yale Named Top Smart Lock Brand

BERLIN, CT – The country’s top 100 installers of home technology products named Yale the number one smart door lock for the second year in a row, according to a survey by the industry’s leading trade publication.

CEPro, a publication for residential integrators – the companies that sell and install home automation systems, home theaters, and security systems – every year surveys the top 100 integrators about the products they install most often. They named Yale their preferred smart lock brand, as they did last year, the first year the survey asked about smart locks.

The survey is part of the annual CEPro Brand Analysis that reports on the leading brands in 58 product categories.

“These installers are our most demanding customers, and they want to provide homeowners the latest technology combined with the very best in security, reliability and convenience,” said Jason Williams, President, ASSA ABLOY U.S. Residential Group, which includes Yale Residential. “That’s why we’re extremely pleased that of all the lock brands available today, these professionals – the tops in their field – prefer Yale, the leading lock brand since 1840.”

Rockwood ArborTek pulls with collar mount posts, Attack Resistant Openings, SARGENT Mortise Lock Escutcheon Indicators, and Norton 6300 Series Low Energy Operators were named 2017 GOOD DESIGN™ award winners from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

Rockwood ArborTek door pulls feature collar mount posts, combining classic wood with modern metals that results in a clean, sophisticated aesthetic. In a marriage of form and function, the wood’s natural grain and color variations make each pull visually unique, while wood grips are gentle to the touch in any environment or temperature.

The ASSA ABLOY Attack Resistant Opening was developed with K-12 schools and higher education campuses in mind, and has become popular for offices, houses of worship, libraries, and other public buildings. Each Attack Resistant Opening is comprised of high-security door, frame, and hardware components from ASSA ABLOY Group brands, and protective glass from School Guard Glass™. Tested according to 5-aa 10 standards based on the FBI's Active Shooter Report, the opening can withstand up to 90 shots of 7.62 mm ammunition followed by an uninterrupted four-minute physical attack.

The Norton 6300 Series is a low energy door operator with a uniquely slim profile, designed to blend with the frame while fitting tight spaces with limited header room. Ideal for a wide range of heavy-use openings, the 6300 Series offers a broad feature set to safety secure interior and exterior doors while enabling facilities to meet ADA requirements.

Escutcheons are a protective or ornamental trim plate usually for a mortise lock, which covers door face cut-outs and incorporates the function holes for spindles, cylinders. SARGENT Mortise Lock Escutcheon Indicators serve the purpose of informing the occupancy or opening of a room making it an excellent solution for both new and retrofit applications where visual indication of a door being locked or unlocked is desired.
