Installation
First and foremost, you must order the correct backset and and the correct door prep. These are not field-selectable. We’re installing the commercial grade 2-¾-inch backset for both the deadbolt and the latch for the handle.
Next, insert the lever trim and make sure it is seated correctly. The chassis will retract the latch when it’s properly engaged.
The next step is to install the electronic deadbolt portion. Make sure the tailpiece is flat and in time with the correct handing of the door. The flat tailpiece should slide through the deadbolt. Test at this phase to make sure it’s timed correctly by rotating the deadbolt and throwing the bolt.
Install the backplate. You’ll notice the little electronic connection underneath that little portion at the top on the deadbolt. Connect that wire very gently and make sure that none of the wires are pinched. Then make sure the flat tailpiece goes through the inner switch and it’s in the 12 o’clock position.
Install the two mounting screws that will attach the lever trim. Then two bolts attach the deadbolt portion. There are three bolts in total. The first two are going to be on either side of the tailpiece. The third one will be at the top. When everything is put together, there should be five screws in total, attaching the backplate, the lever trim and the deadbolt portion.
The interconnected internal trim that is one solid piece. Install the four AA batteries before attaching that trim. The positive and negative positions are marked on the plastic housing so they won’t be installed backwards.
Next, put the thumbturn in the flat position so that it meets up with the tailpiece for the internal trim. Two final screws will hold that trim in place, one at the top and one at the bottom.
Once the internal trim is all put together, test the function of the lock by throwing the deadbolt from the inside. When you retract the handle, the internal, interconnected portion should retract both the latch and the deadbolt simultaneously for free egress from the inside out. From the outside, test the fob to make sure it works correctly. When you present the NAPCO encoded fob, you should get a green indication light, signalling that it is accepting that credential. It will allow you to rotate the thumbturn and retract the lock.
Once the lock is fully installed, download the MVP app. Through the app, you can begin adding and programming fobs and using your system.
