Locksmith vans can act as moving billboards, boosting visibility in your community. The best ones are eye-catching and provide clear information on what services are available, and, of course, include easy-to-spot contact information. In this era of unscrupulous fake locksmiths, they can also foster your standing as a reputable company.
We received some great entries and are happy to share them with our readers. This article looks at the exteriors, which generally involve custom wraps and paint jobs. Part 2, starting on page xx, showcases interior storage and workplace solutions. With an increasing number of “stealth” unmarked locksmith vans, the interior solutions took center stage this year.
First Place: “A” Locksmith, Naples, Florida
Our first place winner was “A” Locksmith, based in Naples, Florida
From owner Andrew Blitch: The van features a dynamic, eye-catching wrap designed primarily in the brand's bold shades of yellow, black, and white. The business name, "A Locksmith," is prominently displayed on the side in large, clear typography, accompanied by the tagline, "Keeping Naples Safe." Contact information, including a phone number and website (ALocksmithNaples.com), is clearly visible, ensuring ease of readability from a distance.
Central to the design is a large emblematic shield bearing an abstract keyhole shape and wings, signifying security, reliability, and protection. The year "1973" is subtly included within the emblem, highlighting the longstanding, trusted nature of the business. Additionally, the wrap clearly states that the showroom specializes in "Jewelry & Gun Safe" products and includes its convenient location descriptor "Across from Mercato on US-41," reinforcing a local and approachable presence.
The overall design projects professionalism, strength, and a modern aesthetic, perfectly aligned with the company's commitment to safeguarding the Naples community. As the owner, it is really fun seeing our trucks in the wild!
Judges’ comments: We loved the bold colors and easy-to-read graphics, and we appreciated that it advertised the company’s jewelry and gun safe services.

From Michael J Bolduc: Simple. Sleek. Stylish. We decided to make this van as simple as possible, while keeping its visibility and ease of readability at a maximum. The contrast of colors, fonts, and size makes this possible. We often receive positive comments about our van from customers, which proves our plan worked.
Judges’ comments: We appreciated the simplicity and the visibility of the ALOA logo on the black van.
2020 Ram Promaster
Double Quick Locksmith, Honolulu, Hawaii
Van is sleek, professional, and eye-catching. It features a modern, fun design with the company’s logo prominently displayed on both sides, along with a clean and sharp color scheme — think of a combination of vibrant orange, and key images.
Judges’ comments: The graphic makes it clear that Double Quick is an automotive locksmith and the colors and art seem perfect for Hawaii.
Sprinter 2500
DJ’s Lock and Key, Garden City, Kansas
From Dennis Davidson, Jr.: Complete wrap of American Flag. Business name, location, and phone number clearly visible. Pictures of materials and hardware we service and sell, which I feel is more effective than words on a passing vehicle. Also features my children with some form of interaction in our line of work. Single side walk-in door and dual doors in the back of the 12' Supreme box.
Judges’ comments: The size alone will get this patriotic truck noticed on the road. It’s definitely the largest entry this year.
2012 GMC Savan 3500
FlyLock Security Solutions, Quincy, Massachusetts
From Ian Carrano: The FlyLock Security Solutions van design reflects our brand identity, which is created to stimulate trustworthiness, and recognition. Using white as our primary backdrop, our vans stand out in all environments, making us easily recognizable for both current and potential clients. By adding contact information and website info to the design, anyone can easily get in touch with us, whether they’re inquiring about potential service offerings, quotes, or want to learn more about the company. We also list our top services on the van, showing our expertise in the industry and commitment to excellence.
To highlight our company’s legacy and strong reputation, we’ve incorporated our founding year to display our long-standing history in the locksmith industry. To add some personality, we’ve included our mascot Buzz on the van’s doors. As one of our most recognizable brand assets, he is considered a symbol of our company’s values, as he helps create a connection with our clients.
Our overall design takes on a modern look but honors our rich history and represents the forward-thinking approach of our business. We believe this design represents who we are as a brand and prioritizes our clients’ needs.
