HID Global Offers Industry’s First OSDP Verified Controllers

HID Global announced that a selection of its reader and controller offerings have been verified to meet the Security Industry Association (SIA) Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) communications standard for access control security and interoperability.

HID is the first manufacturer to have completed testing in the OSDP Verified Program for access control units. The HID Aero and HID Mercury controller product lines as well as HID Signo Readers now carry the OSDP Verified mark.

SIA OSDP Verified is a comprehensive testing program that validates that a device conforms to the SIA OSDP standard and the related performance profiles. SIA third-party testing lab verification ensures that OSDP Verified products meet stringent standards. Receiving OSDP verification also ensures that devices will work as intended for their access control use cases.

“We are longtime proponents of the OSDP standard and are proud to now offer the industry’s first controllers to be OSDP Verified by the SIA,” says Jim Dearing, director of product marketing, physical access control solutions with HID Global.

HID Global and Mercury Security, which HID acquired in 2017, co-developed OSDP in 2008 and donated it to SIA in 2012. SIA launched its OSDP Verified program in April 2020 to test and validate that devices conform to the standard and related performance protocols.

Advanced Diagnostics Releases Mercedes-Benz Software

Advanced Diagnostics has released its ADS2298 key-programming software compatible with Mercedes-Benz models produced from 1996 to 2014.

The software is designed to program slot keys compatible with Mercedes models. The software is activated automatically when the Smart Programmer ADC260, required for programming these keys, is connected to the Smart Pro.

A maximum of eight keys can be programmed. You don’t have to delete existing keys to add new ones. The security password is calculated in the background by the server, and the Smart Pro must be connected to the internet. The four-button slot key by Ilco POD-BENZ-4B1 is required for this software and provides the same infrared technology used by original keys.

This software doesn’t use tokens. It’s free with the purchase of the ADC260 Mercedes Smart Programmer device. Support for all-keys-lost situations is coming soon, the company says.
