Import Key Blanks
A subscriber wrote in asking about a new key blank (pictured). The locksmith stated that it was a new key blank from Bauer, and he wanted to know the key-blank number.
Actually, the keybow shape is similar to Bauer, but this key blank is an import from Asia. A company in the United States sells these locks for recreational-vehicle equipment, but according to its website, it only furnishes additional duplicates when a customer purchases new locksets. What a customer is supposed to do later isn’t explained on the website. If any subscribers find a substitute key blank to use for duplication, kindly send that information to Locksmith Ledger.
