Improved 9500 Mortise Lock Exit Device

Aug. 7, 2015

Reamstown, Pa.DORMA Americas, a leading manufacturer and marketer of premium access solutions and services, announces improvements to its 9500 Mortise Exit Device. With added dependability to the mortise chassis, the 9500 device offers increased durability, ease of installation, and faster order fulfillment over the previous 9500 mortise device.

Advantages of the improved 9500 Mortise Exit Device include:

  • It requires no additional door prep for external solenoid on LFSC/LFSF models (wire raceway in door required for power wires).
  • The lock case can be easily reversed without opening the chassis case.
  • It is fully compatible with the MLR (Motorized Latch Retraction) feature, allowing the latch bolt to retract electronically and quietly.
  • It requires shorter lead times than before when ordering optional items to be added at the factory.
  • It offers the convenience of a 1 1/8” mortise cylinder.
  • It has a higher PSF rating (60 PSF) to comply with Hurricane and Florida Building Codes.
  • It fits A115.1 ANSI 86 edge prep.
  • The improved product stands to lower inventory costs due to its versatility. Fewer will need to be maintained in stock because a simple change of a cam on the back of the cylinder allows functions to switch between 03 storeroom and 08 classroom.

“We’re excited about the improvements to the 9500 Mortise Exit Device, and the benefits it will deliver to customers looking for reliability and value,” said Exit Device Product Manager for DORMA, David Karley. “The improved lock has been tested at Miami-Dade County testing facilities for the HC Florida Building Code applications.”
