Squire Appoints Standard Wholesale Hardware as New Distributor Partner
ST. LOUIS –Squire North America announced that Standard Wholesale Hardware has joined the company’s growing North American distribution network as an authorized distributor of Squire Commercial padlocks, high-security solutions, and two-wheel security products.
The agreement follows meetings and product evaluations that began in late 2025 and culminated at the recent Security Hardware Distributors Association Industry Advancement Summit, where Squire North America introduced its commercial channel strategy to the North American locksmith and security hardware market.
“Squire brings something different to the North American market,” said Jerry Burhans, Commercial Sector Director for Squire North America. “The SHDA meetings confirmed strong demand for premium mechanical security products that help distributors differentiate beyond commodity padlocks. Standard immediately saw the opportunity to position Squire as a premium, problem-solving brand.”
Under the partnership, Standard will offer a curated assortment of Squire Commercial products to address growing demand in critical infrastructure, urban security, e-bike protection, transportation, and harsh-environment applications where corrosion, attack resistance, and durability are critical. The lineup includes:
- Stronghold closed shackle and marine-grade stainless steel padlocks for commercial, industrial, marine, and critical infrastructure applications
- Heavy-duty container and cargo security locks for transportation and logistics environments
- Stronghold, Warrior, and Vulcan high-security combination padlocks for institutional, utility, telecom, and facility security
- Hardened alloy steel chains, hasps, and integrated lock-and-chain systems for perimeter and equipment protection
- KeyKeep combination and push-button key safes for residential and commercial access management
- Two-wheel and urban mobility security products, including hardened D-locks, frame locks, and extra-long security cable systems
- Restricted key platforms and key blank support for locksmith and institutional security programs
“We’re excited to introduce Squire to our customers,” said Paul Bardach of Standard Wholesale Hardware. “What stood out to us was the product differentiation, the quality of construction, and the willingness of the Squire team to work closely with the channel. We see opportunities across several segments, including locksmith distribution, commercial security, and bike and mobility security.”
Burhans noted that onboarding involved product evaluations, sample reviews, assortment planning, and discussions around fulfillment, merchandising, and category expansion.
During SHDA, Standard identified opportunities in commercial padlocks, resettable combination locks, key storage, and urban two-wheel security, particularly the growing Northeast e-bike market.
Founded in 1780, Squire is one of the world’s oldest independent lock manufacturers, with a strong European reputation for high-security padlocks and weather-resistant solutions used in utilities, transportation, marine, industrial, and critical infrastructure applications.
The Stronghold range is tested to rigorous European lock standards including CEN and LPCB, and the expanding commercial portfolio targets the evolving needs of professional distributors and end users.
“Squire’s independence, engineering heritage, and long-term approach align well with what many distributors are looking for today,” Burhans said. “We’re building this business around channel partnership, support, and long-term growth, not simply placing products into distribution.”
Squire North America is also developing marketing support, commercial pricing, training, merchandising tools, and distributor enablement resources to support channel growth across North America.
