Westinghouse Security Builds On Tradition

With RTS Series locks, you can set access control rights for each individual user to each individual lock and upload these access rights in seconds.

As the popularity of electronic security devices grows, the amount of manufacturers offering these devices is also growing.  From a locksmith dealer standpoint, it has become difficult to decide which manufacturer is right for you and your customers.  One company offering electronic security products is Westinghouse Security.

The Westinghouse legacy extends from 1886 to the present including technologies such as appliances, lighting, electronics for the home plus energy and security solutions for businesses.  Westinghouse Security continues the 130-year Westinghouse brand tradition of innovation, dependability and quality in their line of products.

Westinghouse Security offers a wide range of products including RTS locks for access control. This article will feature RTS series electronic locks by Westinghouse Security. Westinghouse Security offers six RTS series models.

In addition to the RTS line of locksets, Westinghouse Security also offers MS1 software. MS1 is an optional management software tool that allows administration of all locks on your network.

Installation & Programming

Westinghouse Security has also simplified the installation and programming processes. Parts to be installed are packaged in several bags. Parts in bag "A" include the first parts to be installed such as the latch and strike plate. Each subsequent marked bag contains the next components to be installed.  Locksmiths who have ever puzzled over a box of loose parts during a hardware installation in the past will quickly appreciate this Westinghouse Security installation procedure.

All necessary wiring is connected through the standard 2 1/8" cutout. Three bolts retain the inner and outer units onto the door. One retainer bolt also extends through the 2 1/8" hole. Two other 3/8" holes must be drilled through the door to accept two other retainer screws.

All RTS inside units contain a display screen and a four-button keypad. When the "M" key is pressed, a menu appears showing programming options.  Instructions on the RTS screen remove any questions concerning programming procedures.

Westinghouse Security states, "RTS series locks with multiple credentials, locking device options, and management systems offer the perfect balance of innovation and performance."  For further information contact your local locksmith distributor, www.westinghousesecurity.com or 800-916-3985.
