IR Security Technologies Names Director, Government Vertical Market

Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies announces that Dan Kilgore will be responsible for leading the company's government (federal, military, aviation, state and local) vertical market development activities, responsible for developing market growth strategies and driving execution of these strategies in the government space. Kilgore will be the principal point of contact internally and externally for the government vertical, working closely with the government and field sales teams.

"The government market has a great demand for the products and services that Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies provides," reports Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies VP, Marketing Rajesh Venkat. "However, it has many idiosyncrasies, ranging from pricing to standards to procedures, which are very different from the private sector. Kilgore has spent 25 years in government market business development, sales and marketing, promoting security systems services and building controls. He joins Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies from Johnson Controls Inc.

Tri-Ed / Northern Video Distribution Celebrates Its Customers

More than 100 customers came out to celebrate the 5th Annual Customer Appreciation Event hosted by Tri-Ed/Northern Video Distribution’s Buffalo, NY, branch. ASSA ABLOY Completes LaserCard Acquisition

ASSA ABLOY has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire LaserCard Corporation, a NASDAQ-listed company (LCRD) and a leading provider of secure ID solutions to governments and commercial clients.

LaserCard's unique portfolio of card products, services, and solutions for complex ID management are used by 400 customers in 44 nations. The company's strength is in its propriety knowhow and highly differentiated secure credential technologies used for citizen identification, border security, government service delivery, and facility access applications.

LaserCard is based in California and also has offices in Rastede and Ratingen in Germany, employs 182 people and had a turnover of $59 million for 2009.

Under the terms of the merger agreement, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ASSA ABLOY AB will commence a tender offer to acquire all of the outstanding shares of LaserCard common stock. The transaction is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2011.
