CyberLock Celebrates 20th Anniversary
Corvallis, OR – CyberLock, Inc., is proud to announce the 20th anniversary of its revolutionary CyberLock access control system. In an era marked by fleeting companies and ever-shrinking product life-cycles, CyberLock has achieved two decades of steady growth and innovation. The company will commemorate the occasion with a number of promotional events throughout the next 12 months.
CyberLock traces its roots back to the founding of Videx, Inc., in 1979. Paul Davis, the founder and head engineer of Videx, made a name for himself by designing and manufacturing a family of portable data collection terminals that became renowned for their rugged durability. In the late 1990’s, Paul recognized the need for collecting and managing data in the access control market. In designing CyberLock from the ground up, Paul wisely applied the best attributes from his data collection terminals: reliability, portability, and state-of-the-art technology. To this day, Videx proudly designs and manufactures CyberLock products exclusively at its headquarters in Corvallis, Oregon, USA. The company’s commitment to producing quality products has made CyberLock one of the most trusted access control systems on the market today.
With 40 years of design and manufacturing experience, Videx continues to demonstrate its passion for engineering creative, innovative solutions with the recent release of several breakthrough products, including FlashLock, FlashBox, CyberKey Flash, and CyberKey Air II. The CyberLock system also features a new, robust software platform to manage its industryleading catalog of electronic locks and access control peripherals. The innovation and lasting durability of CyberLock has resulted in the deployment of over 2 million CyberLock cylinders across the globe. The lifelong dedication to supporting and enhancing our existing products reflects the companies’ ongoing commitment to deliver innovative, powerful, and robust solutions for any security application.
To kick off its anniversary celebration, CyberLock plans to release two innovative new products in early 2019. For details, visit www.cyberlock.com ;
ASSA ABLOY Introduces Preferred Installer Program
NEW HAVEN, Conn., — ASSA ABLOY introduces its new Preferred Installer program. Building on decades of experience in the higher education market, ASSA ABLOY has developed a national network of Intertek certified hardware installers who are highly skilled in providing physical installation of its integrated electronic locking devices.
Systems integrators, who often face staff shortages, can take advantage of this network of installers to maximize their efficiency. The ability to outsource this skill helps improve productivity, ensure a quality installation, and create a competitive advantage. What’s more, when contracted through ASSA ABLOY, an additional year of warranty is provided for products installed by Preferred Installers. This program also helps end-users meet their deadlines, provides peace of mind with high-quality installations, and protects their investment with an extended warranty.
Preferred Installers go through a rigorous, four day hands-on training course given by ASSA ABLOY instructors with years of real-world experience. Students who have taken the class have been very pleased with the quality of instruction.
“We have attended many a training class, and this is hands down the only class offered that is truly a hands-on course with an instructor that is more than qualified to teach,” said Chad Smith, Chief of Operations at ACME Security Solutions, LLC. “We had an amazing learning experience, and this is all owed to the instructor, who took this training above and beyond our expectations.”
ASSA ABLOY Preferred Installers are third-party certified by Intertek. This means the technicians are qualified to field prep Warnock Hersey labeled fire doors for the installation of specific ASSA ABLOY integrated locks and accessories while retaining the door’s fire resistance rating and compliance with NFPA 80. In addition, Intertek Qualified Personnel may apply supplemental serialized labels to doors they’ve prepped and after ASSA ABLOY hardware has been installed. This signifies to Authorities Having Jurisdiction and Fire Door Inspectors that the installation was completed in accordance with NFPA guidelines.
“The Intertek Qualified Personnel (IQP) ASSA ABLOY Hardware Installer program provides assurance that personnel conducting work in the field are fully qualified and that the work is done correctly each and every time,” said Justin Hendricks, Program Manager – Openings Building & Construction, Intertek. “Participation in the program is also crucial to maintaining the door’s Intertek fire resistance rating and subsequent compliance with NFPA 80 guidelines.”
Lester LaPierre, Director of Business Development, Electronic Access Control, ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions adds: “ASSA ABLOY has provided installation services for many years across the country at our largest installations incorporating thousands of electronic access control locksets. We’ve learned that the outcome of each of those projects was quality workmanship and high productivity. This resulted in timelines being met, site issues and product returns being reduced, and, most importantly, satisfied integrators, general contractors, and end users. That’s why we’re expanding and formalizing this program so those same benefits can be applied across all opportunities.”
ASSA ABLOY Certified Integrators interested in using a Preferred Installer can simply log on to the Partner Area of www.IntelligentOpenings.com to find the Installation Services Quote Request form to begin the process. "Since Mary came on board at the end of 2016, we've been working on programs to leverage her extensive knowledge and experience in the glass industry for the benefit of glass and glazing professionals and organizations," said Shane Geringer, SDC’s President and CEO. Valencia, CA. – Security hardware manufacturer Pacific Lock Company (PACLOCK) has strengthened its Sales Leaders program by welcoming Ohio-based S J Schilling & Associates. Steve Schilling and his son Fritz, will be responsible for supporting PACLOCK’s presence and brand awareness in six states including Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, western Pennsylvania and the Chicago area.
Steve and Fritz are very valuable to our Sales Leader program,” explained Gregory Waugh, president of PACLOCK. “They have excellent relationships with locksmiths and institutions in the the upper Midwest and Great Lakes regions. The kind of exposure they can generate for our product lines is a huge advantage and fits with our strategy of delivering custom-engineered products to the marketplace. They are very valuable additions and should make a quick impact.”
S J Schilling & Associates of Millersport, Ohio has over 40 years of industry experience specializing in padlocks, pins and door/cabinet hardware sales. Steve serves as president of the company and began his career with Kwikset in 1986, where he worked for 15 years. He enjoyed sales success at Master Lock Company until opening his business. Fritz worked for one of the world’s largest marketing agencies – J. Walter Thompson – before joining forces with his father in 2013. Both have represented numerous hardware lines, increasing sales and marketshare with most.
With PACLOCK, they will be representing the only padlock manufacturer producing Buy American Act compliant padlocks in all three body materials, including SFIC padlocks.
PACLOCK is earning a reputation for developing profit-enhancing solutions, and its Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) padlocks are proving to be popular for many reasons. Designed to offer superior security with the utmost quality and dependability and significantly reduce the chance for the lock to be shimmed and pulled, they work with 5, 6, and 7-pin cores and come ready to install with any SFIC cylinder.
The line is CNC-machined in the USA from hardened steel, electroless nickel plated for extreme toughness, and is highly resistant to the environment. It also includes a standard 1-3/16-inch hardened steel, quick-change shackle, allowing to easily adapt a padlock to any application. Steve Schilling is excited to share this opportunity with his customers.
“The SFIC padlocks are a huge advantage to facilities using them in their door hardware,” summed up Schilling. “By integrating SFIC into our high quality padlocks, they are able to provide key control and efficiency throughout the entire property. We have school districts, hospitals and amusement parks that are all potential customers for these products for this line. We are looking forward to introducing them to these products.”
