Patriots RB Inspires Crowd at CLARK-Boston Open House

Boston – Dion Lewis, running back for the New England Patriots, inspired a crowd of security professionals during an open house June 8 in Boston, Massachusetts, for CLARK Security Products, an Anixter company and leading wholesale distributor of physical security products and services.

Lewis spoke about being tenacious and committed to hard work as he pursued his dream of playing for the NBA—a message of perseverance that captured the tone of the open house: After more than a decade, security professionals can finally pick up products locally in Boston thanks to the partnership of CLARK and TRI-ED, joint Anixter companies.

“Re-opening in Boston happened as the result of long-term vision and planning,” said Jay Heffernan, CLARK Vice President of Sales. “We invested in this move because we feel confident that the market will benefit greatly from our presence. Thanks to a lot of hard work, now CLARK can provide security solutions quickly and easily to the region’s electronic and mechanical hardware businesses.”

Standing in front of the crowd, Lewis was living proof that that you can’t give up on your dreams as he works hard to recover from a torn ACL that ended his 2015 season. His goal is to be back in the games by September 2016.

“By all indications, I shouldn’t have even played high school football,” the 5.6” and 170lbs athlete told the crowd of locksmiths and security integrators who came from across Boston, as well as representatives from ASSA ABLOY, a leading manufacturer of security products, and a few lucky kids who joined parents for this up-close experience with the legendary athlete who has been involved in youth football since childhood.

“But I’m here to show that if you want something in life, you have to work hard for it,” Lewis said.

After his speech, Dion Lewis took questions from the audience about his time in the combine, how he measured on agility drills and the 40-yard dash, and what it was like to play for the Patriots. Lewis stayed to pose for pictures and sign autographs. In the background, the Celtic Strings, the Norwood High School string orchestra, played music throughout the event.

“This was such a great way to reintroduce CLARK to Boston,” Heffernan said. “We were floored by the turnout of local security businesses—all there to celebrate hard work and new beginnings.

“The floor was so packed we could hardly move. We have to give Dion Lewis some credit for that!” said Heffernan.
