Aiphone Relocates Corporate HQ
Bellevue, WA – Aiphone Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of intercom and entry security products, is relocating its 53 full-time corporate employees to Redmond, Washington. After 31 years in their present location, this expansion will provide enough room for growing sales, marketing, technical, customer service, repair, and engineering groups. They will be doubling their operation from 15,000 square feet to 32,000 square feet.

IML Nevada Expo Report
With its IML Expo – Nevada, held November 2015, Intermountain Lock & Security Supply set new attendance records for the both the Courses and Trade Show. Over 400 seats were filled during the first 2 days of this three-day event. Courses taught included safe manipulation, automotive transponders, door hardware, access control, codes, marketing/sales and more.
Day 3 featured over 100 manufacturers on-site displaying their products and offering hands on demonstrations along with special pricing. Over 600 were in attendance during this four-hour event making it the largest IML Expo in Nevada.

Sargent & Greenleaf's Urschel To Retire
Nicholasville, KY – Ned R. Urschel, Vice President and Managing Director of Global Sales for Sargent & Greenleaf (S&G), has announced his retirement, effective Dec. 31, 2015Urschel will continue to work with S&G as a consultant to the business, helping address strategic Global Business Development opportunities. Debra Ayres, Director of North & South America Sales, will succeed Mr. Urschel as Global Sales Director.
Urschel joined S&G in 1986 and has held numerous leadership roles during his tenure including Director of Sales, Vice President of Sales, and Vice President of Product Development / Market Development.

IDN Sponsors Education Room at New ALOA Training Center
IDN, Inc., a leading distributor of security hardware and solutions, has collaborated with Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) to enhance the Aaron M. Fish Security Training Center. The dedication of the Aaron M. Fish Security Training Center at the ALOA headquarters in Dallas, Texa, was held Nov. 12, 2015.
Through the partnership, IDN designed the IDN Training Room with nostalgic lock hardware and key machine photographs, which were part of the Jerry and Al Hoffman collection. The products depict the history of the locksmith industry including products patented back to 1896.
Key machines in the photographs include Simplex, HPC, Jensen¹s LockCraft, Keil, and Corbin Cabinet, among others. Products in the photographs include a violin padlock, a lock which was once used on a castle, a lock decoder, lock picks, metal skeleton key plate, a padlock in the shape of a horseshoe, and other unique padlocks and keys. The history of the industry is apparent as you look through the photographs in the room, almost having a museum-like affect, bringing many memories as time stands still for only a moment.
ALOA has certified over 4,000 locksmiths nationwide with an additional 2,900 who are presently in the early stages of certification. ALOA offers a Proficiency Registration Program (PRP), which is the international standard for professional certification in the field of physical security.

Tamron Promotes Maniaci, Suzuki
Commack, NY – Tamron Co., Ltd. announcesd the promotion of Gregg Maniaci, a 20-year veteran of the company, to President and CEO of Tamron USA, Inc., effective Dec. 1, 2015. Hidekazu Suzuki was simultaneously appointed Senior Vice President.

Maniaci has 26 years of experience in the photo imaging industry. He first joined Tamron USA as the New York Metro photo imaging sales representative in May of 1995 after several years of photo specialty retail experience. Maniaci was promoted to Eastern Regional Sales Manager of the photo imaging division in December of 1998, and in 2009 he also assumed the role of Midwestern Regional Sales Manager until the two regions were combined in 2010. In April of 2014, Maniaci was promoted to Senior Manager, and as such, he managed sales of both the Photo Imaging Optics and Industrial Optics divisions for the eastern half of the US from Tamron's Long Island USA headquarters.
In 2008, Suzuki was appointed Director of Corporate Planning Business Development & Solutions for Tamron USA. After six years in this position, he was promoted to Manager of Strategic Planning Department / Oversea Imaging Products Business Unit of the parent company, Tamron Co., Ltd.
Toshiba Promotes Hartzel
IRVINE, CA – Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. has promoted Greg Hartzell to Director of its Surveillance & IP Video Products business unit, a world leader in specialized video technology used in surveillance and monitoring applications.
Previously, Hartzell served as the unit's Senior Manager. In his new role, he will be responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction, as well as overseeing daily operations and sales management.

SLD Honors Schwartz with ALOA Classroom Sponsorship

Fish ALOA Training Center. The sponsorship honors the organization’s late president, Sidney Schwartz, a 2nd generation locksmith who worked in the lock and door security industry for more than 50 years.

Sidney Schwartz was a true industry innovator. Mr. Schwartz contributed to the creation of the car cuf, an anti-theft lock for automobiles, and generated master key systems using algorithms in the 1960s, before computers were readily available. Additionally, Schwartz created installation tools used to install locks that are still used by locksmiths today.
