Ten Reasons For The Public To Choose Your Business

June 17, 2015

1) Experienced: Time on the job is an important consideration. Proper procedures for servicing and installing security equipment can only be gained through repetition over an extended period of time.

2) Knowledgable: Amount of years in business can be a barometer. Knowledge is built from past experiences, both good and bad.

3) Reliable: Recommendations from sources such as past customers, Better Business Bureau and Angie's List can be a good reliability indicator for customers.

4) Bonded and insured: Proper business insurance is a necessity to protect both the business owner and customers of the business.

5) Professional:  Looks exude professionalism. Proper attire, clean trucks, neat physical appearance and a friendly manner must all be used to your advantage.

6) Full Service: Competition from companies in similar security fields is increasing.  By offering many different types of services, your company has a better chance to obtain your share of available business.

7) Track Record: A potential customer has no better indication of your qualifications than the amount of years you have been in business.

8) Training: During the last century locksmith procedures did not drastically change. Electronics is now playing an increasing role in the security arena. Training has become a much more important requirement in order to keep abreast of continual changes both in product lines and procedures.

9) Store Front:  Customer interest begins when they know that there is real place to visit in case either of a problem, for additional services or to view the products they want to purchase.  Businesses without a storefront should at least provide some way for the public to access you or your business.

10) Emergency Services: Locksmiths have always been known for providing emergency services day and night. While it separates us from retail outlets with 9-5 hours, emergency work should not be depended on as the primary source of your business income.

Food for thought in case your locksmith business does not quite reach full potential in some of these categories.
