ADI Launches Connected Home Display
With increased focus on automation, remote control and the connected home, Z-Wave based solutions are creating new growth opportunities across the market. The integration of systems has become increasingly popular, and the explosion of smartphones and tablets and the advancement in apps continue to drive demand. ADI offers a full line of Z-Wave based products from some of the best brands in the industry.
To showcase connected home technologies and give security professionals an opportunity to demo the latest products through interactive displays, ADI recently launched a connected home branch display at its Bohemia, NY location. The store-within-a-store concept introduces dealers to Z-wave enabled smarthome technologies, and lets them see, touch, and test drive products before presenting them to customers.
The connected home branch display features more than 50 products and the solutions represented include security, video surveillance, lighting controls, locks, thermostats, garage door sensors and controls, water sensors and valve controls, and window shade controls. This model helps dealers understand how to integrate security systems with home automation, offer hands-free remote control, and provide a solution that lets users stay connected to their home or office.
ADI will use the connected home display to host training events to provide dealers with a hands-on learning experience. In addition, ADI offers connected home training seminars at all the ADI Expo events throughout the year, and hosts connected home training opportunities at our local branch locations across North America.
Products currently featured in the Connected Home Branch Display include the Honeywell Tuxedo Touch with Wi-Fi and Voice Control, Honeywell LYNX Touch 5200 and 7000 Touchscreens, Honeywell Z-Wave Thermostat, Honeywell Indoor and Outdoor IP Cameras, Yale Z-Wave Locks, Kwikset Z-Wave Locks, Leviton Vizia-RF Z-Wave Lighting Controls, Graber and Somfy Z-Wave Controlled Shades, Leak Intelligence Z-Wave Water Valve, FortrezZ Z-Wave Water Valve, and more.
The Connected Home Display is part of a pilot program at ADI, and we have plans to bring this home automation prototype to additional locations across North America.

VingCard Elsafe Becomes ASSA ABLOY Hospitality
Hotel security innovator VingCard Elsafe has changed its name to ASSA ABLOY Hospitality, effective June 1, 2015. This new identity allows the company to draw upon the vast resources of ASSA ABLOY and positions it to better meet the evolving needs of the hospitality industry.
ASSA ABLOY Hospitality also announces the launch of its new Certified Partnership Program, allowing third-party mobile application and solutions providers to integrate mobile access functionality into their existing mobile-based solutions for hoteliers. Adding ASSA ABLOY Hospitality’s Mobile Access solution to existing hotel apps means that guests will be able to use their smartphone, device or smart watch as the key to their room, as well as to check-in and check-out. This new solution maximizes operational efficiency and guest loyalty, as well as reducing costs and driving revenue.
ASSA ABLOY Hospitality developed the Certified Partner program to enhance the functionality of third-party applications and also to make it more convenient for hoteliers to have all of their mobile functionality combined into a single app or solution. It gives guests a greater reason to download the hotel’s mobile app, as it provides a convenient and secure way to access their room without the need to carry a keycard. This provides the hotel with an added opportunity to promote other services and amenities, which will in turn drive revenue. It also makes it easier and simpler for hotels to implement and streamline their mobile services.
“As smartphones get even smarter, tech-savvy consumers increasingly expect this kind of functionality when traveling,” says Gard Gabrielsen, Global Product Director / Mobile Access & Credentials at ASSA ABLOY Hospitality. “Recent industry research shows that more than 70 percent of travelers would be likely to use their smartphone to check in and bypass the front desk.”
