Salto Introduces IDM Connect
ATLANTA – Salto has introduced IDM Connect, a smart integration layer within the Salto ID Management portfolio that connects Salto smart access platforms with external business systems. It provides a secure, standardized way to manage identity and access data across environments.
For organizations that rely on multiple platforms to manage people, credentials, and access rights, keeping systems aligned can be complex and time-consuming. Manual synchronization can lead to inconsistencies, operational errors, and increased security risks. IDM Connect helps address these challenges through automated, reliable data exchange between Salto systems and third-party platforms.
A standard integration layer for connected access
Starting with the Salto Space access control management platform, IDM Connect supports identity lifecycle processes, and access governance, helping ensure that user data, credentials, and permissions remain consistent across systems.
The solution is built around two complementary models:
Cloud Space API: A modern cloud-based REST API hosted by Salto and secured with OAuth 2.0 authentication. It eliminates the need for clients to manage on-site servers and provides a scalable way to integrate external systems with Salto Space
On-premises connectors: Certified, ready-to-use connectors installed locally to automate synchronization with specific third-party systems, including Lenel OnGuard, KONE, and Schindler
Together, these models let organizations choose the approach that best fits their infrastructure and integration requirements while maintaining a consistent framework.
“The Cloud Space API is accelerating innovation across the Salto Technology Partner ecosystem,” said Sam Weiss, Salto Americas Category Manager, Technology Solutions. “By making it faster and easier to build embedded capabilities, we’re enabling more Technology Partners to create solutions that deliver delightful experiences for customers.”
Key Capabilities
Automated multi-system synchronization: Keep identity and access data aligned across systems without manual re-entry, with scheduled or near-real-time synchronization, where supported
Centralized access management: Manage users, credentials, access levels, door operations, and mobile key delivery, across one or multiple installations from a single integration layer
Clear setup and monitoring: Structured configuration, connection monitoring, and API usage visibility help technical teams deploy and manage integrations
Security and compliance by design: OAuth 2.0-authenticated API access, encrypted credential storage, secure data transport, and GDPR-ready data handling aligned with Salto standards
Built for today, designed for scale
The initial phase focuses on Salto Space. The integration layer is designed to support additional Salto platforms and third-party systems over time. Learn more about Salto IDM Connect.
