NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc. announces the release of its GEM-XK5 Slimline Keypad, designed to bring modern styling, intuitive operation, and enhanced installation flexibility to the trusted Gemini security platform. Ideal for both new installations and system upgrades, the GEM-XK5 combines a sleek, contemporary design with built-in expansion capabilities and seamless compatibility with existing Gemini control panels.

Measuring less than 3/4 inches deep, the GEM-XK5 features a bright aqua 32-character backlit display, soft-touch oval keys, and dedicated Stay/Away buttons for convenient one-touch arming. Additional features include customizable alphanumeric zone descriptors, LED indicators for system status and carbon monoxide alarms, and a wireless signal-strength display with a 1-to-10 scale for Gemini wireless devices.

Designed to simplify installations and reduce additional hardware requirements, the GEM-XK5 incorporates a built-in 4-zone expansion module, eliminating the need for a separate module in applicable installations. Versatile mounting options accommodate single-gang, double-gang, and 4" x 4" electrical boxes, while terminal-strip and quick-connect harness connections provide added installation convenience.

Offering exceptional versatility for new systems and retrofits, the GEM-XK5 is compatible with Gemini control panels ranging from the GEM-P816 through the GEM-X255. Full backward compatibility with older Gemini systems enables security dealers to upgrade existing installations with a modern keypad without replacing the control panel, helping save time and installation costs.

For applications requiring integrated wireless capabilities, the GEM-XK5-RF model features a built-in RF receiver supporting up to 255 wireless points, depending on the Gemini control panel. NAPCO also offers the GEM-XR5 and GEM-XR5-RF models, featuring traditional RP1-style keys for customers who prefer a classic keypad design.

The GEM-XK5 is ETL Listed to UL 985, UL 1023, and UL 2610 standards and is backed by NAPCO’s 36-month limited warranty.
