BHMA Presents 2025 Richard A. Hudnut Award to Robert Strong

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) proudly presented the 2025 Richard A. Hudnut Distinguished Service Award to Robert Strong, dormakaba, during the Annual Fall Meeting in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated leadership, exceptional dedication, and service to advance BHMA’s mission and the builders hardware industry. Named after BHMA’s first Standards Coordinator, this peer-nominated award is the association’s highest honor.

“Bob Strong exemplifies the collaborative spirit and technical expertise that drives BHMA forward,” said Ralph Vasami, Executive Director of BHMA. “His leadership and commitment to excellence have helped strengthen our standards development efforts and the broader industry we serve.”

Strong has been an active BHMA member for 30 years, contributing to numerous standard committees and initiatives that have helped in the association’s technical and strategic direction. He serves as Compliance Manager at BEST Access Solutions, Inc., a member of the dormakaba Group.

“It’s an honor to recognize Bob with this year’s Hudnut Award,” added Justin Crotzer, the newly elected President of BHMA, who presented the award. “His vision and long-standing dedication embody the collaborative values this award represents: innovation, integrity, and service to our members and the builders hardware community.”

The presentation of the Hudnut Distinguished Service Award took place during the BHMA Annual Fall Meeting, which brought together members and industry leaders to collaborate on standard developments, discuss key initiatives, and celebrate the association’s 100th Anniversary.
