A late Happy New Year from all of us at Locksmith Ledger. It’s the month of New Years’ resolutions, best of 2025 lists and predictions for 2026. Read our favorite articles from the past year and view the top products from 2025.
One of our goals for 2026 is to share different viewpoints from our readers out in the field. It’s not surprising that our favorite articles are those written by locksmiths, recounting interesting jobs and sharing tips for their colleagues. We invite readers to contact us about noteworthy installations and service calls. We can help with the writing and editing if you can help with the photos and expertise. Email [email protected] or [email protected].
Another goal, likely shared by our readers, is education. Our company hosts monthly “lunch and learn” sessions about topics of interest to media companies, and this seems like a good idea for larger locksmith businesses as well. There are unlimited free, online training sessions that would pair well with pizza in the conference room.
Our 2026 webinar schedule includes Healthcare Security in March, School Security in May, Multifamily Security in July, Upgrading to Electronic Access Control in September and The Business of Locksmithing in November. All of these webinars will be available online after the live sessions on YouTube. Registration is coming soon.
At our State of the Industry webinar earlier this month, some podcasts were also recommended. These included Wayne Winton’s Locksmith Security Network sessions and Chad Lingafelt’s Unlocked podcast series.
The Big Chill
Another January theme is surviving winter weather. If the meteorologists and their forecasts are accurate, it’s about to get interesting across the South! Here in Atlanta, it’s a beautiful, winter day, but a potential ice storm is on the horizon. We are preparing for power outages and road closures, as just a couple of inches of snow or an inch of ice bring the city to a standstill. (We know our Northern readers laugh but no one is coming to sand or plow our secondary roads. We have to wait for the ice to melt. No one has snow tires or chains because they are only needed once every few years.)
Stay warm and safe, everyone. Pack your vans with blankets, water, sand, snacks and emergency supplies.
