ASSA ABLOY has signed an agreement to acquire Concept Frames, Inc., a manufacturer of custom-made steel doors and frames for commercial and industrial door and window applications in the US.

"I am very pleased to welcome Concept Frames into the ASSA ABLOY Group,” says Lucas Boselli, Executive Vice President of ASSA ABLOY and Head of the Americas Division. “Concept Frame is a complementary addition to ASSA ABLOY and adds to our leadership in the door and frame category in North America.”

Concept Frames has an excellent reputation for customer service, project specifications and quick delivery primarily covering the southeast region of the US. Boselli adds, “Excellent customer experience combined with well-made custom products are a welcomed addition to our offering.”

Concept Frames, founded in 1982, has approximately 68 employees. The head office and factory are located in Newton, NC.

Sales for 2018 are expected to reach about $8 million with a good EBIT margin.

ASSA ABLOY has also signed an agreement to acquire Pioneer Industries, a manufacturer of steel doors and frames for commercial applications in the US. Pioneer is a complementary addition to ASSA ABLOY as it reinforces ASSA ABLOY’s strong position in the doors and frames category in North America.

Pioneer, an SDI (Steel Door Institute) certified manufacturer, meets the rigorous manufacturing, performance and quality standards for doors and frames expected by design professionals and building owners alike.

"The addition of Pioneer allows us to fortify our steel door and frame offering in the US and in particular the Atlantic region," Boselli.

Pioneer will continue to be led by its talented management team, with support from its experienced and highly skilled employees and strong distribution channel partners noted Kent Winter, President, Door Group, ASSA ABLOY Americas.

“We are pleased to be a part of the ASSA ABLOY family of brands and fully expect to enhance their steel door and frame manufacturing strategy by continuing our commitment to a positive customer experience,” says Mitch Dorf, President, Pioneer Industries.

Pioneer Industries founded in 1930, has approximately 100 employees. The head office and factory are located in Carlstadt, NJ.

The acquisition is conditional upon satisfaction of customary closing conditions and is expected to close during the second quarter of 2018.
