Huntington Beach, California, January 18th, 2017, - D&D Technologies, inventors of the first magnetic pool safety gate latch MagnaLatch®, joins Pool Safely to advocate that simple steps around the pool saves lives.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) launched Pool Safely: Simple Steps to Save Lives to improve pool and spa safety by reducing childhood drownings, submersion injuries and entrapments. It is a national public education campaign that works with partners around the United Sates to reduce child drownings.
D&D Technologies, a drowning prevention advocate for over 25 years, joins Pool Safely on their mission to save lives.

According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control) drowning is the number one cause of unintentional death among children 1-4.The Pool Safely Pledge, one of the outreach tools the campaign uses to share water safety messages, promotes simple steps that save lives. The Pledge is a simple call to action for people to commit to safety steps around the water. Kids will pledge to never go in the water without an adult nearby. Adults will pledge to always watch kids in the water, to learn CPR, and ensure their pools have proper fencing and gates. Stay Close, Be Alert and Watch
Always watch children and never leave them unattended
Keep children away from pool drains, pipes and other openings
Have a charged phone close by at all times
If a child is missing, check the pool first
Share safety instructions with family, friends and neighbors
Learn and Practice Water Safety Skills
Learn to swim and make sure kids do, too
Know how to perform CPR on children and adults
Understand the basics of life saving so that you can assist in a pool emergency
Have the Appropriate Equipment
Install a fence of at least four feet in height around the perimeter of the pool or spa
Use self-closing and self-latching gates
Ensure all pools and spas have compliant drain covers
Install an alarm on the door leading from the house to the pool
Keep pool and spa covers in working order
Have life-saving equipment such as life rings or reaching poles available for use
