INDIANAPOLIS, IN – STANLEY Security, a leading global manufacturer and integrator of comprehensive security solutions for a wide range of industries, announces nominations are now open to higher education institutions for this year’s TOGETHER FOR SAFER SCHOOLS Grant Program.

In its second year, the STANLEY Security TOGETHER FOR SAFER SCHOOLS Grant Program will provide the opportunity to enhance safety and security in the nation’s approximately 4,500 higher education institutions by awarding winning schools a share of a substantial grant of STANLEY Security installed products and services. Any higher education institution – both public and private, from community colleges to large-scale campus environments across the U.S. – is eligible to participate.

“We’re proud to be able to continue our TOGETHER FOR SAFER SCHOOLS Grant Program this year by focusing on our nation’s higher education institutions,” said Kyle Gordon, Director of Higher Education Market Solutions – North America for STANLEY Security. “At STANLEY Security, our passion and commitment to campus safety is unparalleled in this industry. As a partner to over 2,500 colleges and universities across the U.S., we value the opportunity to learn from these institutions about how we can assist them in offering safer and more secure educational campus environments so students, faculty and staff can thrive. The TOGETHER FOR SAFER SCHOOLS Grant Program is just another demonstration of STANLEY’s long-standing dedication to the present and future of our nation’s colleges and universities.”

STANLEY Security announced the second installment of the TOGETHER FOR SAFER SCHOOLS Grant Program last week at the 2014 ASIS International 60th Annual Seminar & Exhibits, the premier security industry trade show, hosted September 29-October 1 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA. Initially set at $500,000, STANLEY Security pledged to raise the value of the TOGETHER FOR SAFER SCHOOLS grant by $50 for every visitor to the company’s booth, in lieu of giving away promotional items. By the end of the three-day convention, STANLEY had raised the value of the grant by $100,000, totaling the grant prize to $600,000 in STANLEY Security installed products and services.

“We’re thrilled by the overwhelming positive response we received thus far for the higher education installment of the TOGETHER FOR SAFER SCHOOLS Grant Program,” Gordon said. “The level of support for this initiative extends well beyond security professionals and our peers within the industry; the endeavor to establish safe campus environments is one that resonates with every individual in this country. STANLEY Security is committed to harnessing that support to cultivate a culture of safety and peace of mind for students, faculty and community members residing on every campus.”

Offerings provided to grant winners include consultative security services, access to STANLEY Security’s premier Software Solutions Group (SSG) and seminars for school officials on security threat assessment and advanced Clery Act training offered by STANLEY Security partner and campus security experts, D. Stafford & Associates. Turn-key installations available to winners can be any STANLEY Security product or solution, including access control solutions, video surveillance systems, fire systems, intrusion systems, mechanical and electro-mechanical door hardware, mass notification systems and other security technologies.

Through November 18, select administrators at any U.S. higher education institution – including college or university Presidents, Vice Presidents, Directors, Deans, Chiefs of Police, Security Directors or Directors of Public Safety – can nominate their campus for the grant program online by visiting www.stanleysaferschools.com.

Once nominations have been finalized, students, faculty, administrators, parents, alumni, and members of the campus community can then vote for their school daily via the voting website, SMS text messaging or Twitter, starting January 19 and running through February 12, 2015. Colleges and universities with the first and second-most votes across three tiers of campus size – under 8,000 students, between 8,000-19,999 students and over 20,000 students – will be selected as grant winners, for a total of six winners. Grant recipients will be announced on March 3, 2015.
