Sargent and Greenleaf Introduces Titan™ Lock to Gun Safety Industry

Titan™ electronic safe locks are on display at National Shooting Sports Foundation 2012 SHOT Show Jan. 17-20 in Las Vegas

NICHOLASVILLE, KY – (January 17, 2012) – Sargent & Greenleaf, Inc. (S&G), a division of Stanley Security Solutions, is showcasing its TITAN™ electronic safe lock family and an array of its mechanical safe locks this week from January 17-20 at the National Shooting Sports Foundation 2012 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, NV.

With the inaugural introduction of its simple-to-use and highly reliable TITAN electronic safe locks to the shooting and hunting community, S&G emerges as an advocate for gun safety and leading provider of firearm safeguarding solutions.

“Our TITAN locks are already being employed by a number of the top gun safe manufacturers nationwide,” said Nate Brown, Marketing Manager at S&G. “Customers and firearms owners can rely on S&G products to secure their shooting and hunting arms, and to ensure that they will be protected from children or any other unwanted users.”

The TITAN electronic lock family incorporates an innovative motor blocking design, and is available in Direct Drive and PivotBolt models. TITAN is listed by UL®, VdS and other agencies for worldwide application.

TITAN™ Direct Drive

The TITAN Direct Drive electronic safe lock provides a completely redesigned locking mechanism based on the security of a rugged, motorized blocking device. Lock bolt retraction and extension is controlled directly by turning the keypad ring, and boltwork or a blocking bar can be attached directly to the lock bolt or to optional locking bars without fear of overwhelming the lock’s drive mechanism or accelerating wear.

The Direct Drive model also offers the following additional advantages and features:

  • Exclusive, no-twist cable design virtually eliminates the risk of cable damage due to keypad rotation.
  • Sure-grip, low profile keypad gives a good, solid feel for the action of the lock.
  • Open/close indicator incorporated into keypad lets users know at a glance whether the safe is locked or unlocked.
  • External battery placement puts the battery inside the keypad, where it can be easily changed.
  • Efficient lock design allows for significantly extensive battery life.
  • Field installable bolt position indicator (BPI) module is available to tie lock action to alarms, video surveillance recorders, etc. The module can be added to a lock at any time, with minimal labor.
  • Program the lock from the keypad at any time.
  • The TITAN lock body is universally handed for RH, LH, VU and VD mounting.

TITAN™ PivotBolt™

Like the TITAN Direct Drive model, the TITAN PivotBolt electronic safe lock offers a locking mechanism based on the proven security of a rugged, motorized blocking device. Lock bolt retraction and extension is controlled by the movement of the safe’s boltwork, and the PivotBolt model automatically locks to re-secure the safe whenever the safe’s boltwork fully extends to the closed position.

The PivotBolt model also offers the following additional advantages and features:

  • There’s no rigid spindle, and the PivotBolt is connected to its keypad only by cable. This allows for the lock to be placed anywhere on the inside of the safe door, and not just behind the keypad.
  • Low profile keypad fits applications where space may be limited.
  • The PivotBolt lock body is universally handed for RH, LH, VU and VD mounting.
