Reality TV Series Follows Alabama Safe Tech

March 20, 2014
truTV has ordered six episodes of The Safecrackers, premiering Monday March 24 at 10 p.m.

The Safecrackers, a new reality series on truTV, will introduce viewers to a pair of Alabama locksmiths who specialize in opening even the toughest of vaults. The first of six episodes airs Monday March 24 at 10 p.m. Eastern.

The series follows expert safecracker Phil Crawford and his best buddy Blaze as they travel the country determined to unravel the mysteries and unlock the secrets lurking in lost and abandoned safes. Phil, Blaze and their fun-loving crew of family and friends can track down and crack open just about anything, from giant bank vaults to intricate antique safes and even armored vehicles and underground bunkers.

Phil Crawford is a master safe cracker who loves a good challenge. He works at Montgomery Lock & Key in Montgomery, Ala., but is originally from Florida and is a beach boy at heart.  With over 20 years in the business, he has seen everything from booby-trapped safes to treasure troves worth $100,000. There is no challenge Phil will turn down. Phil is assisted by Blaze (no last name given), Phil's best friend and "safe scavenger" partner.  Originally from Georgia, Blaze grew up around motorcycles, guns, and ammo and has a passion for all three.  Blaze has studied southern antiquities and weaponry his entire life and he brings this knowledge to help evaluate locked safes and hidden treasures.
