The Serenity wood door and aluminum frame solution merges aesthetics and acoustics for schools, healing environments, and various sound attenuation applications that require a highly decorative design.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. /PRNewswire/ -- ASSA ABLOY Group Brands Frameworks, Graham, and Maiman have teamed up to launch Serenity, the first wood door and aluminum frame sound-rated door opening solution. This is an industry first that allows aesthetics and acoustics to merge into a solution that is perfect for schools, healing environments, and various sound attenuation applications that require a highly decorative design.

Available in sizes up to 9 feet, the wood doors and aluminum frames, along with PEMKO seal kit, have been acoustically tested together, to achieve an STC (Sound Transmission Class) rating of 35 per ASTM E90 (Standard Test Method for Laboratory Measurement of Airborne Sound Transmission Loss of Building Partitions and Elements) and ASTM E413 (Classification for Rating Sound Insulation).

The Serenity opening is available in various wood door options from Graham and Maiman, including a 20-minute fire rating, with any commercially available veneer, and must be ordered with a Frameworks Type II aluminum frame.

Serenity is truly an aesthetically pleasing door opening solution that allows designers to achieve the clean lines of aluminum frames, the warmth of wood doors, and the technology of sound transmission control.
