Kwikset Survey Asks What Makes Homeowners Feel Safe At Home

70 percent of American homeowners report that having deadbolt locks on their entry doors would make them feel safe and secure

LAKE FOREST, Calif., Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- A recent survey, commissioned by Kwikset and conducted online by Harris Interactive between July 20 – 24, 2012 among 2,208 adults ages 18 and older of whom 1,464 were identified as homeowners, found that 70 percent of American homeowners report that having deadbolt locks on their entry doors would make them feel safe and secure at home. And while safe and secure in their homes, 83% of homeowners say their favorite activity to do with their family is watching television or a movie.

Upon learning these statistics, Kwikset would like to help encourage families to create their own safe haven and spend more time together at home doing what they love, by declaring the month of September as Celebrate Your Safe Haven month. The month kicks off with the Celebrate Your Safe Haven sweepstakes which will award one lucky winner with a 55" Class CED 6000 Series Smart TV, Samsung Smart Home Theater, one-year Netflix subscription and a Kwikset $1,000 Home Security Makeover.
