We list the new introductions in 2012, as well as the remakes of existing models and discontinuation of a few more.

It’s that time of year when the 2012 models roll into the showrooms and car buyers and the locksmiths who will need to service 2012 cars attend auto shows to catch a glimpse of the newest models. While potential buyers are looking at new styles and features, locksmiths are most likely checking to see what locking systems are used.

Here are three lists: the new introductions for 2012, existing models getting a makeover, and the models that are being discontinued. In our December print issue and online, editor-in-chief Gale Johnson will review the new introductions, with information on lock components and code series.
