Kaba InSync® RFID Key Offers Dual Technologies

Kaba Access and Data Systems Americas introduces a series of dual credential InSync RFID keys. The new InSync RFID keys offer a single electronic key solution for use on standalone locks and hard wired/telephone entry systems that are commonly used on perimeter doors. InSync locks are suited for market rate, mixed use, garden style, mid-rise, luxury, student, and senior living facilities, and are ideal for retrofit applications.

Kaba InSync RFID keys come standard with HiTag technology and can also carry a secondary PROX, MIFARE®, or DESFire® credential that allows for a single RFID key integration across all current access control systems. Users select and order keys based upon the operating protocol of their existing perimeter door access control system.

With one InSync RFID key, property management saves time and money by eliminating the need for multiple credentials to access different parts of the property. This also streamlines the residents’ experience by providing one key for complete access across the property.

Because properties can preserve their current, familiar hard wired access control systems, they can maximize their initial investments in both product and training. An InSync system with dual credential keys will also operate with other Kaba access control products such as E-Plex® 5600/5700 standalone locks. Kaba E-Plex Electronic Pushbutton Locks are a good fit for heavy-duty back office applications, including inventory/storage, food preparation areas, and break rooms.

“Dual credential keys are a new, cost-effective option for properties upgrading their resident doors with an InSync solution,” states Dale Mathias, vice president multihousing sales. “Now properties can maintain their existing hard wired access control systems and use the same key credential for both, providing dual access with single key convenience.”

The Safecrackers, a new reality series on truTV, introduces viewers to a pair of Alabama locksmiths who specialize in opening even the toughest of vaults. The first of six episodes aired March 24 at 10 p.m. Eastern.

The series follows expert safecracker Phil Crawford and his best buddy Blaze as they travel the country determined to unravel the mysteries and unlock the secrets lurking in lost and abandoned safes. Phil Crawford is a master safe cracker who loves a good challenge. He works at Montgomery Lock & Key in Montgomery, Ala., but is originally from Florida and is a beach boy at heart.  With over 20 years in the business, he has seen everything from booby-trapped safes to treasure troves worth $100,000. There is no challenge Phil will turn down. Phil is assisted by Blaze (no last name given), Phil's best friend and "safe scavenger" partner.  Originally from Georgia, Blaze grew up around motorcycles, guns, and ammo and has a passion for all three.  Blaze has studied southern antiquities and weaponry his entire life and he brings this knowledge to help evaluate locked safes and hidden treasures.
