People check the Caller ID before answering the telephone. Do you know what appears on their phone?

For many, the cell phone has become their home and business phone. It makes life easier and less expensive having one phone that can be carried. However, having one phone brings up an interesting question.

Do you know whose name appears as the Caller ID Name and telephone number when you make a call? The Caller ID Name that normally appears is the person or company that purchased the service. As an alternative, private caller or blocked can appear without the telephone number for people who do not what to share their information.

Before many people accept a call, they want to see whom the caller is. Then they will decide if they are going to answer. A business phone number should be displayed with the company name. This way your customers will immediately recognize that you are calling. If you are calling a customer and your company name does not appear in the caller ID, they may not answer.

If the name and number that appears is not the name you want, most carriers have a method of changing the data if you have access to the account.

Presenting a more professional image to your customers increases the likelihood of improving your bottom line.
