New Honda Cycle Key System

A Locksmith Ledger reader alerted us to a new key system which is being used on some Honda cycles. This new sidewinder key system is used on 2014+ Honda CBR1000, CTX1300 and Interceptor 800 models plus 2015+ CBR650F and NC700JD models. Depth and spaces are identical to Honda sidewinder vehicle keys used with the KLMN 000-999 code series.  The Honda cycle key has a small central groove on each side of the blank. Projections in the Honda cycle ignition lock plug prevent key blanks such as an Ilco HO01-PT from entering the plug.  The only key blank available is an original Honda blank 35121-MGP-A93. A second original Honda blank with a diffrent bow shape is 35121-MJE-A02. No aftermarket key blanks are available at this time. Additional information will be printed in a subsequent Locksmith Ledger.
