Special ISC West Coverage: ASSA ABLOY Unveils New Products

April 16, 2015
During the last three years ASSA ABLOY has introduced over 300 new products. 100 new products have been introduced just since the 2014 ISC West conference.

Martin Huddart, President, Access and Egress Hardware Group, ASSA ABLOY Americas, made a series of announcements at the ISC West conference in Las Vegas.  Mr. Huddart noted that the integrator community continues to demand innovation in the form of real products.  According to ASSA ABLOY,  product introductions announced at ISC 2015  are designed to deepen ASSA ABLOY'S leading position in access control innovation and address the latest challenges facing the integrator community in today's complex security market.  " Our leadership is fueled by a strong investment in R&D, a commitment to disruptive innovation and the desire to meet the needs of the customers we serve," Huddart stated.

Major product announcements by ASSA ABLOY included:

* Sustainable high security monitoring solutions

* Security solutions tailored specifically for multi-family and small business applications

* A residential lock with NFC capability and keypad

* Intelligent perimeter solutions for commercial and industrial applications

* Wireless security capabilities for a broader range of markets and environments

* A leading group of mobile access capabilities

* True PoE solutions for reduced consumption of energy and materials

* High Performance doors which provide tornado, bullet and blast resistance

ASSA ABLOY has re-imagined access control by looking at each building security system from the outside in. A wide spectrum of ASSA ABLOY security products now includes physical barriers such as blast resistant doors and electronic security products such as cell phone-operated locksets. A SEOS system uses a phone App to control unlocking. While competitors require up to four procedures to operate locks with a cell phone, the ASSA ABLOY SEOS App requires just one press of their APP button.  Real Living products from Yale have now been designed to operate with existing alarm systems such as OEM partner Honeywell. This NexTouch system provides a low-cost way to add keyless access control since many small businesses already have an alarm system installed.

Custom designed systems were announced for use in apartment complexes. Card-operated systems can be remotely monitored and card access immediately restricted if rental charges are unpaid.

ASSA ABLOY Intelligent key access is a combination of a mechanical key and intelligent electronics contained in the keybow. "The brains are in the Key." according to ASSA ABLOY.  Accurate audit trails of key usage are automatically recorded each time the key is used.

During the last three years ASSA ABLOY has introduced over 300 new products. 100 new products have been introduced just since the 2014 ISC West conference.  New electronic products have stressed reduced energy consumption. Power reductions up to 99% contribute to savings for both building owners and the environment.   If you missed the 2015 ISC West conference, watch for the one-of-a-kind showroom on wheels as it appears around the country filled with ASSA ABLOY Intelligent Opening products on display.
