Crute Heads Akron Hardware

Akron Hardware Consultants, Inc. has named Roy Crute as president of its wholesale operations, which includes the Hardware Suppliers brand. He will replace Ken Orihel, who has held the position since 1990.  Orihel will remain with Akron Hardware as Chief Executive Officer. 

Crute has been part of the Akron Hardware organization since 1981. He began as a warehouse laborer, then moved into the sales department as a salesman, and eventually promoted to sales manager. In his most recent position, he served as vice president of sales.  

“Roy has been an integral part of Akron Hardware for over 30 years. He has the respect of our employees and customers, as well as a history of proven success. He has a track record of building a high performance culture based on employee development and a customer-driven focus,” Orihel said. “Roy’s experience in our industry, including brand building, employee development and channel expertise will be invaluable to the continued growth of our business.”

Akron Hardware and Hardware Suppliers specialize in the wholesale distribution of security and hardware products for commercial, retail and residential applications. With its corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio, Akron operates distribution centers in Arizona, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Texas. 
The Hardware Suppliers brand maintains a sales center in North Carolina.

ADI Leadership Updates

Because ADI is now operating as a global organization, the company announces the following updates to the ADI leadership team to support its growth vision and business strategy.

Andy Morra, VP of Marketing for ADI Americas for the past three years, has been named the Vice President of Global Marketing , ADI Global Distribution. He will lead all marketing initiatives across the Americas, EMEA and India, helping drive a global marketing strategy that is focused on growth, and delivering value to customers and vendors worldwide.

Marco Cardazzi, who has served as the U.S. Senior Product Manager for video surveillance at ADI for the past four years, has been named VP of Marketing for ADI North America, responsible for driving all marketing strategies across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.   

Farpointe Expansion

Sunnyvale, Calif. - Farpointe Data has relocated its offices over the past weekend to a new larger, more modern facility located approximately ten minutes north of the former headquarters. The new location features a larger, more proficient layout that lets Farpointe add new manufacturing equipment and increase its production and inventory capabilities.

Farpointe Taps East Coast Sales Manager

Farpointe Data has named Thomas E. Piston, Jr. its U.S. East Coast sales manager. Piston will help security system manufacturers and integrators from the New England and Mid-Atlantic states provide their customers with Farpointe Data products and options that will better meet their customers' needs for card-based access control and other applications. He is based in Hagerstown, Maryland.

"With his heavy background in marketing as well as sales, Tom looks forward to helping our customers provide new solutions for their customers," emphasizes Lindley. "With the future of RFID growing each and every day, Tom will show security manufacturers and integrators how RFID technology provides access to offices, parking lots, hotel rooms, gyms, cars and homes. MorphoTrak Appoints FBI's Swann

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Scott Swann has joined MorphoTrak, a U.S.-based Morpho (Safran) company, as Senior Director of Innovation for the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Business Unit. In this role, Mr. Swann is responsible for identifying, researching and developing customer solutions; leveraging Morpho's industry leading biometric and security technologies. He most recently served as Special Assistant to the FBI Executive Assistant Director of the Science and Technology Branch. Swann is a well-recognized leader in the advancement of biometric technologies.

SDC Increases Customer Service

Security Door Controls (SDC) announces the appointment of Med Mosher as Customer Service Facilitator, responsible for assisting our customer service team and expedite customer requests.

Mosher has been in the security industry for 30 years. His experience as a principal in a successful locksmith and access control service business, in addition to working as a project and account manager for a leading national security distributor has uniquely prepared him to help SDC’s customers in his role as a customer service expediter.

Paja Named Honeywell President

David Paja has been appointed president of Honeywell Security Group, effective as of Jan. 19. Paja succeeds Ron Rothman, who is retiring from Honeywell to spend more time with family, according to a statement released by the company. Paja will be based in Melville, N.Y. and report to Alex Ismail, president and CEO of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions.

Paja joined Honeywell in 2003 and most recently served as vice president and general manager for Honeywell Transportation Systems in China and India, where he led a team that drove significant growth for the business, securing long-term contracts with domestic and global OEMs.

“David is an accomplished leader, who will build on Honeywell Security Group’s strong industry position at the forefront of technology for the connected home and the connected building,” said Ismail. “David’s diverse background builds on generations of leadership in the security industry in dynamic new ways. He has broad experience in understanding the needs of customers in both developed markets and high-growth regions, and has a proven track record of driving new product introductions and innovation that result in expanded growth for the company.”

Rothman has served as president of Honeywell Security Group since January 2010 and will remain with Honeywell through June to assist with the transition.
