Stepping Up Residential Security with Arrow Tubular Locks

Arrow C Series tubular lever locks and CK Series tubular knob locks provide residential and light commercial customers with an entry lock that has been designed to meet or exceed the requirements of ANSI A156.2, Series 4000, Grade 2. The C and CK Series locks are designed for exterior and interior doors whose thickness is from 1-3/8” to 1-3/4”. The Arrow C Series leversets are designed to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The Arrow C Series keyed tubular lever locks have a clutch mechanism that disengages from the latching mechanism when the lock is locked. The clutch mechanism is designed to resist unauthorized entry when excessive rotational force is applied. The outside lever rotates freely almost 90 degrees in both directions. The clutch mechanism helps to reduce the damage and wear on the lock’s components while improving the overall level of security.

Keyed C and CK Series lock functions are Entrance and Storeroom. The non-keyed lock functions are Passage, Privacy, Patio and 1/2 Dummy Trim.

The four lever designs have 4 -1/2- inch levers. The Solar lever has a return towards the door. The Lunar and Orion lever designs are handed. The three knob designs are ball, elliptical and tulip shaped. The roses are 2-1/2” in diameter. Mounting screws are concealed beneath the interior rose of the lever locks and exposed with the knob locks.

C and CK Series locks require a 2-1/8” cross bore and a 1-inch edge bore. The standard dead latch is adjustable. To change the backset, the latch hub is slid into the extended position for the 2-3/4” backset or slid into the retracted position for the 2-3/8” backset. The dead latch comes with three faceplates: 1-1/8” x 2-1/4” square corner, 1” x 2-1/4” square corner and 1” x 2-1/4” radius corner. Spring latches for non-keyed locks are available with the same faceplate styles.

To change the key bitting, rotate the lock cylinder plug out of the locked position and then depress the retainer along the knob or lever just forward of the rose. As the retainer is being depressed, pull out on the knob or lever. Remove and recombinate the lock cylinder. Assemble in reverse order.

Arrow C and CK Series lock cylinders are manufactured of solid brass. The lock cylinders have six-pin chambers, five are combinated. The standard keyway is the “A” keyway that can be operated with a five- or six-pin tumbler key blank depending upon the number of pin chambers combinated.
