Sargent & Greenleaf. Opens Electronic Lock Manufacturing Facility

Sargent & Greenleaf, Inc., a subsidiary of Stanley Security Solutions, has opened a new, state-of-the-art electronic lock manufacturing facility in Nicholasville, KY.

Since its acquisition by Stanley Security Solutions six years ago, Sargent & Greenleaf (S&G) has made significant investments in new machinery, automation, tooling, staff, quality processes and other methods to increase the productivity and efficiency of the plant. This state-of-the-art electronic lock assembly and test facility furthers S&G’s commitment to producing the highest quality products for its customers.

S&G has experienced phenomenal growth in its electronic lock business over the last few years. By investing in an ultramodern facility, S&G proves its commitment to meeting the demands of customers for more sophisticated electronic locking solutions.

“This is an investment that aligns with our business and product strategy,” states Phil Pitt, Director of Marketing for S&G. “Electronic locks are a key part of the S&G strategy moving forward. Examples include our recently announced TITAN™ electronic locks, our new S&G 2740 High Security lock for government applications, and our popular ASERIES™ ATM lock.”

The new electronic lock manufacturing facility aims to achieve certification to ESDA S20.20 standards in ESD protection. The manufacturing and testing room is built to accommodate growth, and is restricted – to all – without a badge for access. Within the facility, locks flow from cell to cell, and are assembled and tested using highly specialized equipment. All locks are required to pass a stringent series of quality checks and tests before exiting the room for packaging.

“Customers worldwide are demanding more sophisticated electronic locking solutions and this new facility positions S&G very well to respond to these demands, while giving us the flexibility to quickly adapt to changing market conditions and customer requirements,” concludes Pitt.
