For the first step, we will enroll ProxCards for users in order to gain access. Before enrolling any ProxCards, prepare a paper with numbers starting at 301 and continuing in order. This paper will be used to write down the number on each proximity card, the user who will be assigned the card, and the date. When viewing the audit log, it is important to know the proximity card number in order to identify the user.
Enrolling User ProxCards
Step 1. Present Function Card 3 to the Prox Lock. The green LED will flash continuously and the lock will beep.
Step 2. Present the first ProxCard to be enrolled. The beeping will momentarily stop and the red LED will flash, indicating the card has been enrolled. The first ProxCard will be assigned User 301. Once enrolled, the green LED will flash and the beeping will start.
Step 3. Repeat step two for the remaining ProxCards to be enrolled. ProxCards must be presented within 30 seconds of the previous card or the lock will automatically end the enrollment sequence. When the enrollment sequence ends, the beeping and flashing will stop.
There is built-in protection against attempting to enroll a ProxCard that has already been enrolled. When this occurs, the red LED will flash five times while five beeps occur. The PL3000 Prox Lock will then exit the enrollment sequence.
To verify a ProxCard is valid, present the card to the Prox Lock. If the card is valid, the green LED will flash two times and two beeps will sound. If the card is invalid, the red LED will flash seven times and seven beeps will sound.
Deleting User ProxCards
To delete a User ProxCard, the card must be presented to the lock. If the card is not available, all lock programming must be deleted in order to delete the User ProxCard.
Step 1. Present Function Card 4 to the Prox Lock. The green LED will flash continuously and the lock will beep.
Step 2. Present the first ProxCard to be deleted. When presented, the beeping will momentarily stop, and the red LED will flash indicating the card has been deleted. The Prox Lock exits the delete mode and is ready to control access.
To delete additional ProxCards, repeat steps one and two.
Once a ProxCard has been deleted, the user location is now empty. When additional ProxCards are enrolled, the lowest available user number is filled first.
To enter passage mode, present Function Card 5 to the Prox Lock. After unlocking, the green LED will flash two times and one beep. Then the red LED will flash. The Prox Lock is in passage mode.
To disable passage mode, present Function Card 5 to the Prox Lock an additional time. After relocking, the green LED will flash two times and one beep. Then the red LED will flash. The Prox Lock requires a valid card to gain electronic access.
Total user lockout mode
To enter total user lockout mode, present Function Card 7 to the Prox Lock. After locking, the green LED will flash two times and two beeps. Then the red LED will flash. The Prox Lock is in total user lockout mode. If a valid ProxCard is presented, six beeps sound and a combination of red and green LEDs flash, followed by four additional red LED flashes. If an invalid ProxCard is presented, the red LED will flash seven times and seven beeps will sound.
To leave total user lockout mode, present Function Card 5 to the Prox Lock an additional time. The PL3000 unlocks, the green LED flashes twice and one beep sounds. The PL3000 relocks and the red LED flashes. The Prox Lock resumes normal operation requiring a valid card to gain electronic access.
Service Card (Function Card 9)
To activate the One-Time-Only Service Card, present Function Card 8 to the lock. After unlocking, the green LED flashes twice, then beeps twice. After the door unlock delay time, the door locks and the red LED flashes. Function Card 9 is activated and will remain active indefinitely. When Function Card 9 is presented to the Prox Lock, the door will unlock, two green LEDs flash and two beeps sound.
