Now we have suffered through two hurricanes within a month’s time along the U.S. Gulf Coast, first Katrina in New Orleans and along the Mississippi and Alabama coast and then Rita, which narrowly missed Houston but brought flooding to the Louisiana and Texas coast. As a result, many thousands of people have been made homeless and are slowly being moved to locations hundreds of miles away or are hard at work putting their homes and businesses back together.
Locksmithing is a tight-knit community of people who have the same problems and successes whether they live in Nome, Alaska, Boston, Massachusetts, or New Orleans, Louisiana. Surely there are some locksmiths on the Louisiana or Mississippi coast who have suffered hardships or losses from Katrina.
Locksmith Ledger would like to serve as a clearinghouse between locksmiths in the Gulf Coast region and locksmiths from other areas who would like to help out their colleagues. Almost everyone has some locksmith tools or other materials gathering dust in the back room. Donating these items to a fellow locksmith will be an immense help to someone who may have lost everything. We ask locksmith hurricane victims to send us their contact information, which we will then pass along to our readers who want to help.
