The TRILOGY DL1200/DL1300/PDL1300 Narrow Stile PIN and PIN/Prox Locks are designed for use with aluminum doors with Adams Rite latch locks. The Series includes three different models.
1. The DL1200 Series supports 100 users and is fingertip and/or keypad programmable.
2. The DL1300 Series can maintain 2,000 users and includes 40,000-event audit trail and 500-event schedule. The DL1300 is also keypad- or PC-programmable and includes two Lithium 3V batteries.
3. The PDL1300 accommodates both PIN and PROX, and provides the same features as the DL1300 Series.
The DL1200 is an electronic keypad lock designed for use on aluminum storefront type doors equipped with common Adams-Rite type storefront locking hardware (any of the following popular Adams-Rite style mechanical locks: #4710; #4730; #4900 dead latches, and #1850; 1950; 4070; MS1850S, and MS1950S deadbolts).
The unit is compatible with both deadbolt as well as dead latch locks, so it can be used for full-time access control applications or for operating an auxiliary deadbolt. If an electric strike is mounted on the door frame, remote door release functions may also be provided.
The DL1200 provides a real 10 numeral (and an additional two symbol “*” and”#” buttons) metal keypad. A total of 100 user codes can be programmed, along with a set of useful functions which enable the lock to be configured to suit the application.
The mechanical design of the AL1200 is simple, and so is programming. The installer can easily make internal adjustments to the unit, should it be necessary, and programming is easy for either the installer or the end-user to perform with a minimum of training.
When actuated, turning the knob on the DL 1200 retracts the lock by means of a special cam plug, or interface cylinder. Two cams are provided with the unit to match whichever mechanical lock the DL 1200 is to be used with.
In addition to a cylinder, only four through holes through the door must be drilled for mounting the DL 1200. Depending on whether the subject door is in or out swinging, and the height on the door where the DL 1200 is mounted, an alternate pull handle solution my also be required to be installed.
The DL 1200 is supplied with a mechanical key override which is a 1 ¼” mortise cylinder with a five-pin “C” keyway, but the cylinder may be rekeyed or replaced with one of the installer’s choosing. The mortise cylinder must be 1 1/8” minimum length, and a special AlarmLock cam must be used. Besides providing a mechanical override for the keypad entry function, the key also allows the installer or end-user access to the battery compartment.
USER (SECURITY) LEVELS:
TRILOGY 1200 users can designate one Master Code, 10 Manager Codes, up to 90 User Codes, and three Service Codes.
All codes may be used for entry, but the Master and Manager Codes also permit programming of the DL1200.
The Service Codes allow one-time entry only.
Manager Codes can be arranged so that the number of users a manager can have the ability to add and delete can be preset. Authority levels can therefore be “tiered,” if desired. Ten groups are possible, with nine users in each group.
This is handy for example, if the Trilogy controls a common door to multiple tenants, or departments within a single enterprise. A particular Manager Code can be programmed so the manager can enable or disable the users in his/her group. In a workplace environment, the manager may not want employees to gain entry until he or she arrives. Trilogy can provide that functionality.
Manager Codes may only be added or removed by the Master Code, and the Master Code can also disable the group functions, and delete Managers. The Master Code can enable or disable as well as add or delete Manager and User Codes.
The Trilogy is sent with a default factory master code which must be changed for any of the other programming features to be available. The default 1-2-3-4-5 Master code makes pre-testing easy, but would be too obvious to allow to remain as a valid code. The Trilogy is supplied with a convenient worksheet, so that the installer, or whoever is doing the programming can write out all the users codes and then have a record of who is who and what is what.
Keypad anti-tamper lockout is offered. If three invalid User Codes are entered in succession, the lock will turn off for approximately 30 seconds, to prevent tampering.
If the Master Code is forgotten or if it becomes necessary to return the Trilogy to its default settings, the battery must be disconnected and the cover removed to expose a jumper specifically used for resetting.
For many premises where a dead latch is installed on the door, it is desirable to be able to put the access system into ‘passage mode,” which means no code is required to open the lock. (It is still necessary to turn the knob, however, unless you manually dog down the latch from the inside). This will depend on if you have a dead latch or deadbolt on the door.
Keypad activity and system functions are articulated by a Red / Green LED on the face of the Trilogy, as well as an audible signal.
It is possible to customize the audible feedback which occurs when a keypad button is pressed. The choices are a high or low frequency beeps, a ‘click’ sound, or silent. This is a great for certain environments where the beeping might be distracting to occupants.
The Audible and LEDs also provide the following additional system status information.
Access Granted: 1 Beep and a green LED flash. At the end of the “Pass Time” the DL1200 relocks with a beep and a red LED flash.
Invalid Code Entered: 5 Beeps and 5 red flashes
Disabled Code Entered: 5 Beeps (with an extended first beep), and 5 red LED flashes.
New User Added And Accepted: 6 Beeps and 6 red flashes
Programming Error: Two sets of 5 beeps, and 5 red flashes
Return From Anti-Tamper Lockout: Two beeps with a red flash
When a valid code is entered into the keypad, the knob on the Trilogy can be turned and it will actuate the lock on the door. This is referred to as the “pass time.” And it may be programmed for 2 to 20 seconds.
To further help the system administrator (the person(s) who use the Master Code) to keep track of valid user codes and identify to which group their code has been assigned, Trilogy provides a ‘Code Locator’ function. This is useful to confirm that a code has been properly entered or deleted, and if it is present in the system as valid code, identifies the Bank and User number to which the particular code has been assigned.
This feature can be used with Service Codes, to determine if someone who was expected has actually arrived yet. For example, you are expecting a courier to come by between 8 and 9 a.m., but you will not be there before 10. When you arrive at 10, you can easily interrogate the system. If the particular service code has been deleted, that service code has been used already (and it cannot be re-used until it is re-programmed.)
