ASSA ABLOY Wins Design Awards

March 3, 2010

Three ASSA ABLOY Group brands were honored among the world’s top corporations in the GOOD DESIGN awards, for setting the highest standards for the best, most advanced product designs.

Founded in 1950 by Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames and others, GOOD DESIGN bestows international recognition upon the world’s most prominent designers and manufacturers for advancing new, visionary and innovative product concepts, invention and originality, and for stretching the envelope beyond what is considered ordinary product and design.

Group brands HES and SARGENT were recognized in the Protective Equipment category for the RF5010 Hybrid Electric Strike and Harmony Series Access Control System, respectively. Yale and SARGENT were correspondingly recognized in the Hardware category for the inTouch Cylindrical Access Lock and the MX Lever with Return.

“We’ve seen that ‘good design’ powers innovation and we’re honored at this recognition,” noted Paul Dauphin, VP of business development for ASSA ABLOY Americas division. “The GOOD DESIGN award recognizes the power of R&D to differentiate products, transform experiences, and contribute to bottom-line results.”

These products, together with doors, frames and hardware from other ASSA ABLOY Group brands, provide the marketplace with well-designed, life-safety and security solutions for the construction industry and provide design and aesthetic solutions for all building types.
