CHRYSLER KITS

Chrysler Ignition Repair Kits simplify the process of replacing a damaged ignition lock. Everything is in the package. These repair kits contain all components necessary to combinate the ignition lock to the customers’ key. They include a sufficient number of each wafer and springs to accommodate every key code within the lock’s code series.

Chrysler Ignition Repair Kits, locksets and coded locks part numbers are: 702417, 702418, 702419, 702788, 703719, 703718, 704650, 708742, 704275, 701757, 702007 and 704275C.

CODED LOCKS

Coded locks and locksets are available for the more popular Chrysler, Ford and General Motors vehicles. Coded locks are available as ignition and door locks. They are also available as coded locksets having the same key bitting in the ignition lock and the two door locks. As an example, the STRATTEC part number 7012943 is a General Motors coded lockset containing an indash ignition lock with Passlock (part number 703602) and two door locks designed for specific years of the Chevrolet Impala, Malibu, and Monte Carlo as well as the Oldsmobile Alero and Intrigue, and the Pontiac Grand Am.

A second GM coded lockset (part number 7012945) is for vehicles equipped with steering column mounted ignition lock with ears used on specific model years of the Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV and the Escalade SUT, Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe, GMC Sierra and Yukon, and Hummer H2. Coded locksets simplify the rekeying procedure by just replacing the locks, not having to rekey them.

Coded locksets for Ford are the STRATTEC 7012801 and 7012802. The difference between these two sets is one set is for surface-mounted door locks and the second set is for handle-mounted door locks. Both have the same 707624 ignition lock.

FORD LOCKS

Since STRATTEC is not the sole supplier of automotive locks to Ford, Lincoln and Mercury, locksmiths must purchase some replacement locks from the dealerships. To resolve this situation, STRATTEC has introduced some of these locks to the locksmith market.

One example is the 1998-2010 Ford Crown Victoria. To service these cars, STRATTEC offers their 5916208 ignition lock (which also operates the 1998-2010 Mercury Grand Marquis), the 5916205 right and the 5916206 left door locks, and the 5916200 deck lock.

Also available are door and deck locks for specific years and models including left (driver’s) door locks for Ford Edge, Flex, Fusion, Focus, Lincoln MKS, MKT and the MKX. The STRATTEC ignition lock that may work for these vehicles is the 707592.

In addition, STRATTEC has been researching their existing locks to determine additional compatible applications. The 707624 lock repair kit lock can be used to replace the ignition lock in the following models: 1999-2007 Econoline van, 2004-07 Freestar and 1999-2003 Windstar van.

CHEVROLET/GM

With the introduction of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro and Equinox, GMC Terrain and Buick LaCrosse and the Canadian model Allure, STRATTEC produces the ignition, and door locks as well as the flip key remotes. These vehicles are equipped with side mill locks using the Z0001-Z6000 (Opel Code Series). Depending upon the model, the flip key remotes are available with four or five buttons.

To more easily service these vehicles, STRATTEC has developed two tools; the Blade Assembly/Removal Tool (part number 7017699) and the FW Door Lock Assembly Tool (part number 7017698). The Door Lock Assembly Tool positions the lock cylinder for installing and removing the roll pin. The Blade Tool positions the flip key blade in order to install or remove the securing roll pin. STRATTEC has replacement blades and roll pins available for the side mill keys. Each kit contains five blades and seven pins.
