FRAMON SIDEWINDER 2

The Framon Sidewinder 2 duplicates and originates internal and external four track and two track high security keys. Converting from a duplicator in order to originate high security keys takes only minutes.

To duplicate high security keys, the Sidewinder 2 includes two sets of vises, six cutters and three guides. To originate keys, Framon developed a patterning system for the Sidewinder 2 using space and depth rods. The rods create the necessary stops for the cutter to locate the spacing and depth positions. Framon is developing space and depth rods for most of the high security applications. The Sidewinder 2 comes with space and depth rods for originating Honda, Volkswagen and Audi keys.

A BIT OF HUMOR

I was at a body shop when I saw an interesting sign. Printed on the sign were the words “We guarantee fast Service – no matter how long it takes.”

CAR-OPENING TECHNIQUES: Toyota FJ Cruiser

This month we will offer recommended car-opening techniques for the Toyota FJ Cruiser 2007-10. This vehicle uses the bicycle style cables.

Note: This vehicle has tight fitting multi-layer weather stripping on all the doors. Failure to remove the wedges when bringing a under the window tool up into the passenger compartment can result in breaking the window glass.

The inside front door handles override the lock mechanism. Holding the inside handle out with the tool will not allow the relocking mechanism if available to relock.

The following opening methods can be used to unlock the Toyota 2007-10 FJ Cruiser.

Use the High Tech Tools Flexible Long Reach Tool #78SG and an inflatable wedge to unlock the front passenger door locking mechanism. Insert the lever tool into the opening at the top rear corner for the front passenger door. Insert the inflatable wedge into the top of the opening. Carefully inflate the wedge. Insert the #78SG car opening tool into the passenger compartment at the top rear corner with the tip pointing downward. Slide the tool until the tip is positioned in front of the lock button or behind the inside door release handle. Once unlocked, open the door using the outside handle.

Use the HPC CO-78 opening tool, an inflatable wedge and a protector sleeve to unlock the front passenger door locking mechanism. Begin by inserting the inflatable wedge into the top rear corner of the front passenger door. Insert the protector sleeve into the gap along the vertical edge. Insert the CO-78 tool through the sleeve into the passenger compartment. Manipulate the tool until the tip is positioned in front of the lock/unlock button or use the loop to lasso the inside door release handle. Unlock the locking mechanism and open the door using the outside handle.

Use the Pro-Lok AO-32 “MCOT-Wide Extra Long Tool” and an inflatable wedge to unlock the front passenger door locking mechanism. Begin by inserting the wedge 15 inches from the front edge of the passenger door glass. Inflate the wedge. Insert the AO-32 into the front passenger door 13 inches from the front edge of the glass with the tip facing forward. Lower the tool into the door cavity 16 inches until it is beneath the bottom of the window and rotate until the arc in the tool is on the passenger compartment side. Deflate the wedge. Carefully work the tool into the passenger compartment until the tip is visible. Manipulate the tool in order to place the tip manual lock-unlock button. Rotate the button to the unlocked position to unlock the door locking mechanism. Pull the outside handle to unlock.

Use the Slide Lock Frameless Window Tool™ to unlock the front passenger door locking mechanism. Insert a wedge along the upper portion of the vertical edge of the front passenger door to relieve gasket pressure. Slide the Frameless Window Tool into the passenger compartment above the wedge. Slide the tool in carefully to avoid the coupler damaging the car’s finish. Manipulate the tool over the inside door handle. Pull back on the inside door release handle to open the door.

Use Steck Manufacturing’s BigEasy “Glo” and a wedge to unlock the passenger door locking mechanism. Begin by first inserting the plastic wedge or inflatable wedge into the top rear corner of the door. Insert the BigEasy tool into the passenger compartment. Manipulate the tool to position the ninety degrees bend tip against the manual lock-unlock rocker. Manipulate the rocker to the unlock position. Pull back on the exterior door handle to open the door.

Use the Tech-Train Productions TT-1015 tool and two wedges to unlock the front passenger door locking mechanism. Begin by inserting the two wedges about eight inches apart directly above the inside door release handle. Insert the TT-1015 into the door until the upper bend is beneath the bottom of the window glass. Rotate the tool until the upper bend is on the passenger compartment side of the glass. Carefully raise the tool until you can see it pushing against the weather stripping. Stop immediately and remove the two wedges. Continue to raise the tool until the tip is visible. Carefully lower and lever the tool until the tip is behind the inside door handle. Lever the handle open to unlock the door locking mechanism.

The direction to rotate the Toyota 2007-10 FJ Cruiser passenger’s door lock plug to the unlocked position is counter clockwise.
