CLARK Security Products presented a 2010 Management Conference in conjunction with its annual Southwest Regional Security Expo and Educational Conference. More than 1,000 locksmiths attended the Southern California event during the week of October 4.


Industry experienced speakers led more than 40 classes offered between the Educational Symposium and the Management Conference. Locksmiths traveled from as far away as Massachusetts to expand their knowledge of the industry. Classes ranged from electronic access control to automotive to business management and safe lock servicing.


On Saturday, the Expo floor was abuzz with more than 80 booths representing a variety of manufacturers and exhibitors. Sales overall were up from the past two years—a good indication that locksmiths are in a better position to increase their own product and service offerings.


Meanwhile, speakers who understand both the industry and business management led a series of classes at CLARK’s 2010 Management Conference aimed to help locksmith owners expand their businesses and push forward into new market segments and apply new business tactics to traditional channels. Attendees walked away with strategic steps to grow their business in today’s economy, as well as contacts for like-minded owners with whom they could exchange best practices and good ideas.
