Bianchi is offering a free software update for the Laser 994 electronic high security key originating machine. The software update, version 3.2, Build 290, is for the Lexus 80000-89999 code series using the new  “C” Jaw adapter, part number B3379. According to Bianchi, a future software update will be available to allow use of either “A” or “C” jaw for the Lexus 80000-89999 code series, but for now they must be cut on the “C” jaw only.

CAR-OPENING TECHNIQUES: 2003-10 Nissan Murano

This month we will offer recommended car-opening techniques for the 2003-10 Nissan Murano. The Murano is equipped with bicycle style cables within the door cavities and multi-layer weather stripping that creates a very tight fit against the window glass. Care must be taken when inserting, manipulating and removing car opening tools as these vehicles are equipped with multi-layer weather stripping at the base of the window.

Note: Failure to remove the wedges when using an “under-the-window” type of tool prior to bringing the tool into the passenger compartment can result in breaking the window glass.

The following opening methods can be used to unlock the 2003-10 Nissan Murano.

Use the Pro-Lok AO-34 MCOT- Narrow Tool and an inflatable wedge to unlock the rear passenger door locking mechanism. Begin by inserting an inflatable wedge ten inches from the front edge of the rear passenger door window. Inflate the wedge. Insert the AO-34 opening tool into the door one inch from the front edge of the window with the handle facing forward. Lower the car-opening tool into the door cavity. Rotate the tool beneath the bottom edge of the window glass. Deflate the wedge. Gradually, lift the tool into the passenger compartment. Once the tip is in the passenger compartment, rotate the tool 45 degrees clockwise and angle the handle 45 degrees forward to position the tip of the tool in front of the manual lock-unlock button. Rotate the button rearward to unlock the door locking mechanism.

Note: Carefully follow the car0opening tool instructions for proper removal of the tool.

Use the Slide Lock AutoBuster III™ car opening tool and a wedge to unlock the front passenger door locking mechanism. Insert two wedges, one as forward as possible and the second wedge behind where the car-opening tool will slide into the door cavity. Carefully insert the car-opening tool into the door cavity with the handle pointing forward. Once the loop is beneath the weather stripping, remove the wedges to relieve pressure on the interior side of the glass. Rotate the Lock AutoBuster III car opening tool clockwise slightly as the tool is carefully lifted. Continue to raise the car-opening tool until the loop and the tool tip are within the passenger compartment. Manipulate the tool and flip the lock control rocker to the unlocked position.

Note: To avoid problems removing the AutoBuster III car-opening tool, try walking the tool as far forward as possible. Slide Lock also recommends rolling down the window a few inches. After the loop in the door cavity roll up the window and insert the wedges before final removal of the AutoBuster III.

Use the Tech-Train Productions TT-1015 car-opening tool and two wedges to unlock the front passenger door locking mechanism. Begin by inserting two wedges about eight inches apart near the center of the window. Carefully insert the TT-1015 tool into the door cavity with the hooked end facing rearward. Carefully lower the tool without rotating until the bend of the tool is beneath the bottom of the window glass. Rotate the tool inboard slightly and raise the tool slowly and carefully. The moment the tool bend can be seen within the passenger compartment, stop and remove the wedges. After the wedges have been removed, raise the tool until the tip is within the passenger compartment. Manipulate the tool until the tip is just in front of the lock control rocker. Use the tip of the tool to flip the rocker to the rear and unlock the door locking mechanism. As an alternative, the tool can be used to pull the inside handle in order to open the door. This opening method can be used on the 2003-10 Infiniti FX45.

The direction to rotate the 2003-10 Nissan Murano driver’s door lock plug to the unlocked position is clockwise. There is no key lock on the front passenger door.
